AMD Zen 5 rumours

I see more leaks, this time from engineering samples scores of Apu based on zen5 - results look really good, cache increases are substantial in places (like 2x bigger L1 data cache) etc. If we see same increases in the desktop CPU (I don't see why not), 40% might not be a problem to reach in multi core apps.

looks intresting if true

Looks like a budget/entry version of Eypc, that is a good idea tbh. I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who want the latest server grade hardware but can't get it due to the cost of entry being out of reach.

another leak for am5 epyc

That would enable really good maxed out settings, Minus RT, Gaming at decent resolutions with FSR3+ at absolutely tiny form factors if it comes to light.

I hope the X3D chips will be launch processors this time but I imagine they will follow by 2-3 months again. Probably early 2025.

I'm guessing 9000 series will launch around computex in June what with mobo vendors already releasing bios updates for their X670 mobos and then the X3D versions maybe for a December window.

haha you need to stop computing like a serf and join the AM5 crew

Not sure if I should laugh or cry, quite ironically I was just starting my first foray into Manor Lords telling my homeless people where t build a couple of burgage plots, and BAM! PC black screens and non-responsive, had to do a hard reset. Half a day of various issue with similar outcomes and it seems that my motherboard is toast.

I am now in a quandary, look for a replacement AM4 board on the used market, or sell my 5700G and DDR4 (stop gaming like a serf) and buy a B650/7600/DDR5 and drop in my Radeon RX480/RTX 2060. It's really poor timing as I had plans to buy other things this month. Or do I get an A320 board for like £50, and wait for the new 9000 parts to land in July/August?

@Journey the serfs revolting! burn them at the stake!

unless there's a need/want to hold on to your AM4 parts, might as well take the opportunity to sell your 5700G/DDR4 whilst it still carries some value and take the AM5 plunge i'd have thought?
if you're managing with a 5700G + iGPU, then a 7600 + rx480/2060 would be a massive jump in performance regardless of what ryzen 9000 holds

I am temped, I really am. I love using just the APU, maybe I could go back to one of those in 2025 when they launch the Zen5 part that is supposedly as fast as an RTX 4060, and I'll already be on the correct board. It's typical that this happens when there are no great deals around, boo!
