*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Really loving the look of these boards, I have no idea what to pick :p.

It feels like its been ages since I've seen a Crosshair board...

EDIT: Might be a daft question, but can you enable XMP profiles on AMD boards?

Damn that Taichi was my goto board but your right, that offset battery will annoy me as well :( i wanted a white and blue themed build too, that MSI looks nice but arent MSI just a bit rubbish really? bad RMA and generally not as well built as over brands? cant say the last time i owned an MSI board, was probably 10 years or so ago
I have loads of MSI builds because their budget boards tend to be £5-10 cheaper than all the others.

Looking at the mother boards so far it looks like the Matx asrock, i had a cheap biostar on my 1090T no frills and a good clocker, so will ne hsving avlook at them aswell.

The Asus Crosshair VI Hero looks pretty damn sweet. It also looks like it has decent cooling as well. Think I'll have my eyes out for reviews of that one in particular.

It's very well put together (shall we say!) one of the best options at launch I think

Aside from the awful USB 3.0 header placement... hate boards that have it on the bottom, always causes problems for routing that big chunky cable. Rarely a situation where it isn't better on the right hand side.

Hmm i guess a dark grey / black and blue LED theme could work, Not sure about all that Transformer looking plastic stuff all over it though, guess you can live with it inside your case. I heard someone say that Asus and Asrock both have really good spec and build motherboards ready for release, above the competition

I've only had MSI boards, more by accident than design and they've been excellent. Got two P67 GD65 with overclocked 2500ks still going strong after nearly 6 years. The newer ones look even better and their GPUs are very well built so I would hope the philosophy for quality is company wide.

The board had to be swapped out at launch for a potential SATA issue but was hassle free. Others experiences may vary ;)

Gents, the photos posted from the Asrock X370 boards is OLD. They have them re-designed as follows.

Any news on release date?

I've just bought a Haswell setup second hand as I got impatient but am now worried the value will tank if Ryzen is as good as the rumours......
