*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

This is probably a bit late but you know you can set profiles/curves in the BIOS or the Windows ASUS software yeah? You can make them inaudible without affecting cooling.

Haha, yes i know that! Even on silent it's audible and very annoying as they're small high pitched fans that're obvious. In the fan profile you can't set it lower than 50% (or around there) at the bottom end. I could unplug them, but it's not worth the risk.

Those people need to get with the times! Are you one of them?! *waves fist* :p
Hey, until last week I was running a 1600x900 VGA monitor as a 3rd screen. For the average user (non-gamer, just office/internet/email) they aren't going to notice a difference anyway unless their monitor sucks.

I suppose that is the B350 board for the lower end. I'd be surprised to see it in the top range.

Wait... are the top end chips even going to have a gpu?

Is that.....is that a VGA connection on the back? :p bleugh!
Yeah the first thing I look for in a motherboard for my ryzen is the video outs :p

oh god, I just had a horrifying vision of the future "I've just build my new computer with a ryzen 1800X, when I switch on everything lights up but the screen says "no signal" pls halp!"

ooo we're gonna get so many of those threads

It may be a serial port. :) However the socket is for any AM4 processor CPU or APU.

It's happened before, "I don't get any video from my Z68 board (and CPU with no iGPU)" & "I want to use the iGPU on my i7 but can't find where to connect the monitor! (to my P67 board)"
