Yes, but I use my X99 for work and its a better workstation platform as the mobo's have everything and can take lots of RAM and PCI-E lanes and maybe cheap Xeons down the road.Even if it dropped to £400 I would still by a Ryzen. Intel must be punished for their greed and come back to reality for a while I say.

for joe bloggs, if the 1700x is all its made out to be is it a better buy than the 7700k, the joe bloggs with no knowledge or care about vrms or need of vast oc'ing, but the joe bloggs that needs a new pc... (1700x/£390,7700k/£330)
thankyouso for most gamers they will by a 7700k at a cheaper price.amd havent shown any real gaming benchmarks yet.if the 7700k is infront and i think it will be then most gamers will still go with that.
