*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

He has just updated the reason why we know so high now. Seems AMD are on top of things now hence probably why the Twitter post last night to confirm they had fixed the issue.

OrangeKhrush
"The person spilling the beans initially said about 3ghz limits but corrected today saying that AMD very recently forced a firmware update that got the IMC support up to 3800mhz. He did say sadly now though the memory subsettings are gone and all you get is 4 subsets with the dividers to play around with. Basically AMD are pushing the engines up to 100% now."

So 1T prob locked now then I guess.

Yeah just read that, he's been pretty spot on so far with his info.

Edit to add : Scone.. better start boxing up your X99 system mate :)

lol, hitting those speeds is one thing. When or if it appears and the results are conclusive, then we can talk :D.

Actually, really using words like guaranteed with memory overclocking tells you all you need to know about Mr Orangekhrush

And Scone don't forget the Haribo bet as well

What was that one? Do I have to eat them? If so, challenge accepted.

Just so we're clear, the condition is that the overclock is stable. Not this CPU-Z validation marketing faff we've seen so far :p

This must be a very recent bash of firmware, was only at the weekend some of these guys were struggling on LN2 above 3200 at all.
