*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Oh but just wait and see how many retailers have overclocked cpu/mobo bundles in stock.. :(

Good point

There is low stock due to every web reviewer & you tube reviewer even ones with less than 2000 subs taken all the damn boards

CLoser to clock for clock with regards to the 6900k, not stock for stock. Both Intel chips are overclocked, the 6900k more than the 7700k. The 6900k is 3.2Ghz base, 3.7Ghz is max single core turbo... then you know they also have a 4Ghz max turbo frequency(because... reasons). 1800x is 3.7Ghz max all core turbo, 4.0-4.1Ghz single core max.

Also if we're talking about straight up stock, Zen supports 2666Mhz at stock, Intel only supports 2400Mhz on both Intel chips. So it's still slightly off. Most people say 3.5Ghz is about the normal all core turbo you get under bigger loads on a 6900k, I'm under the impression a 7700k is more like 4.3Ghz for all cores(but I haven't paid a lot of attention to it). So I'd say it's a touch unfair in terms of stock running, the 6900k will be a few percent out, maybe more, the 7700k a bit less 1-2% maybe.

No, stock for stock like I said (as in out of the box). I also thought the 6900k was only 4.0ghz max on one core?

I was only commenting on that graph posted in which it shows the 6900k as faster. Obviously price wise the 1800x is a much better perf per £ proposition.

That is assuming there is no overclocking on the cpus in that chart, but it doesn't look like there is

Could anyone from OCUK check the status of my order to save me from calling in? i preordered on 27th. give me a shout if so i'll msg the order number!

Guys that early leaked review, again look at the memory and they had issues with the memory and motherboard, its not the latest bios either, apparently it didnt even boot up for them on occasion.... I would disregard pretty much most reviews you see of Ryzen for probably a few weeks, take what you see now as a starting point and not the end point, because once the BIOS gets nailed on the boards and the issues with mem and SMT performance is corrected, then you will see the product in its proper form.
