*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

I wonder if this whole windows timer thing could scew benchmark gaming results too ...If the OS timer is off then who knows ?

This needs more digging ..I suppose this is what happens when a bios which is suppose to be basic... now seems tied with the OS as a whole

Comments relating to no sleep bug there, very interesting...

It also seems the OP (Diorgaming) has no idea what is going on either...

I was having an issue where all my games would crash after about 20 minutes of play. It had me going all around the houses and banging my head (having no hair left to tear out). It turned out Ryzen on my Crosshair VI had taken to not like being looked at while gaming. Any software that monitored the board (that includes the default behaviour of Afterburner and Precision X) was making games crash. No crashing with none of it running.

And the update is supposed to be due out this month to 1703. I hate Win10, but this may be a good reason to change.
That is a huge difference in scores over current build or perhaps his new bios on that board is helping even that doesn't explain such a huge leap though.
@Scramz Keep looking at your memory and wanting to buy, but holding myself back ;)

Haha the 3866Mhz Trident Z? Still here if you want it lol. I would stick it in the MM but I don't have access for some reason?!

Would they not work on the Tomahawk with lower speed @3200 i have G.SKILL F4-3200C14D-16GTZ 2 x 8gb 3200 gtz 14 timings running fine on my toma

Not really able to watch the video right now, but will later. I've seen gavin on here getting some much higher scores than everyone else yet unable to explain why either, so there are some weird things going on. (He was playing around with HPET off I believe, but others are unable to replicate this results).

Are my ears burning!?
You are right, i appear to have been hitting some very high benchmark scores. Heres the best part; I reinstalled windows due to a large amount of corruption of my os install. And now my scores tie in with others. Note that hpet is now on. With it off i was seeing some very weird FPS dips into single digits then immediately back into the 100's.

Doesnt work, the MSI website doesnt have this RAM listed on the supported list unlike other G.Skill, yet. Your RAM is on the list.

Have you enabled your trust?

I enabled trust a week or 2 ago and was expecting it to appear, but nothing so far.

If I don't have luck today that's
exactly what I'm going to do.

Also, try unplugging every USB device you can, including hubs.

I had a USB 3 hub that had worked fine with several boards including a B350, but this board didn't like it one bit.

Don't test this at same time as memory or if one works, you won't know which.

I would say see if crashes when idle on desktop before trying the USB test though - if it does then can test with absolutely every USB device disconnected, including mouse and keyboard.
