*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

It's here.

Must be an Intel set up though given the fanboyism I've been accused of since the Bulldozer days.

All work stops on the house :)

I'm looking forward to your impressions and comments.

I seem to be having an issue with my mouse atm everytime i boot up windows i'm having to unplug and plug the mouse back into usb for it to work ?

On a Taichi board

Any ideas please?

Thanks.

Same thing on my crosshair steelseries apex m800 doesn't always "wake up" on boot.

965 on my 1600 @ 3.7 with my old 2400mz RAM. Hopefully see a decent increase when my 3200mhz G.Skill kit arrives.

CB 1420 on a stock 1700 with 3200C16 ram (16GB)

(EDIT FX8350 at 4.8GHz was 803)

I'm just looking at p states for a 3.7 clock on all cores using the stock air cooler.

I had it a couple of times with my keyboard during initial setup, but it's been fine since.

Have you tried different usb ports? as I understand it some of the USBs will be run off the CPU and some off the chipset, complete stab in the dark but it might be this that's causing issues?

Yeah it seems to have settled down on the port i'm using atm Thanks

Go into your bios and under CPU (depending on board ) Enable SVM mode.

Edit.

Caught me out on my Gigabyte k7 as it's disabled by default

Looking at the manual it's in the Advanced tab just under AMD fTPM option

I can not thank you enough !

Finally found it and put it on tired all my VMware software and it's now working !

Been on this since 8 and thats all it was * bangs head against table *

Thank you.

Ended up getting dragged to the pub.
So far my rig is in bits and the ryzen is waiting to be put in :p.

That wraith cooler is quality though.

It is an excellent cooler. It has allowed full stress testing at stock and I suspect will allow an overclock. Very pretty as well if you like the colours and have a windowed case.

I wouldn't worry about core temp. I wouldn't expect to get any sort of accurate temperature out of an AMD chip and haven't since Phenom II.

I remember thuban would report sub ambient temperatures
