*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Updated bios? Are you running creators update? I know the new version of windows is removing programs it deems incompatible. Could be software rather than hardware issue.

Update the drivers for it?

Thanks, BIOS is latest version and yes fresh install creators update. Drivers latest version straight off Creatives website. Really annoying issue this one cant get to the bottom of it at all

Gaming performance thumbs up.

However browsing the web my old 3570k seems to be able to load pages faster than my 1700.

Doesn't matter as much as does not use the 1700 for browsing but just an observation.

This is with Chrome which is meant to be multi thread.

Re Browsing

I came from a 4790k @ 4.8 and yes that felt more responsive quicker than my 1700's @3.6 which is to expected with the Intel running faster

but its not that much
and with now after a month with the 1700's i do not even notice any more and i sometimes forget i am on a AMD platform which is a good thing

I noticed the opposite if anything, my haswell xeon at 3.7 certainly feels slower browsing and youtube viewing. The boot time on that would wipe the floor with this though why is every ryzen so slow to boot!?

Good point
Yes boot times on my intel was much faster ...I would like to know why Ryzen is so slow to even post never mind loading windows..i assumed it would be resolved with bios updates and to be fair with the latest bios its quicker but still slow compared to intel

From turning on it can take up to 10 seconds before it posts ? I am on MSI tomahawk be good to know what other peeps get with cold post

According to task manager my last time BIOS time was 20.6 on a crosshair hero VI, my intel is less than 6 lol.
