*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Not really? The G.Skill 3200C14/TeamGroup 3200C14 stuff is well priced imo. RAM prices are on the increase!
They have increased 3 fold. 3200c16 is at ~£130, no way is C14 worth the £70 increase because of a duff Ryzen controller.

RAM prices are definitely one of the biggest reasons that I'm waiting for Zen 2 (or whatever Intel brings out next year). I grabbed 16 GB of DDR3 for my current system because it was £57. I am not spending near £200 for the same (albeit DDR4) stuff over a year on!

Problem is, are the manufacturers going to address the supply shortage, or just enjoy in the increased profits... the fire was 4 years ago:

Where did you find such a deal? I really need more RAM.

Presuming you mean you want to stay on Win7, you can't realistically stay on 7 with Ryzen, otherwise you don't get the security patches.
I'm on 8.1 (not that it helps my problem). I just want to stay away from 10 for as long as possible. Especially after reading that the buttons to switch off telemetry data don't actually do anything

Ties in with mindblanktech videos on YouTube. In some of his tests the 3200 cl14 was beating 3600cl16

Hi, From what I have read this only applies at 1080p res right ? I play at 3440x1440 and 4k. At those res the GPU makes the most difference right ? I have 32 GB DD4 that cost me £60 and I have no wish to pay more for ram for little or no gain.

Spybot have their own program that removes all the telemetry stuff. Take off your tinfoil hat.

Anyone with a Ryzen cpu that is a software dev? Interested in how it runs things like visual studio, compilation times. Angular CLI/node compilation?

There's actually very little compiling tests done for Ryzen. Although in GCC it's doing really well.

For Angular CLI/node compilation I can't find anything. In fact this very thread with your post appears when I searched for something.

As for Visual Studio, the only result we have is Anandtech's, although we don't know if they used the Intel or MS compiler.

GCC Compiling 6950X is Intel 10 Core, the 7900X is the new 10 core replacing it.
