Why did Intel decide to compare a Xeon chip to the 1800X? Both completely difference prices, TDP and market.

Also Intel please, don't forget the Core 2 Quad existed . Nothing wrong with "gluing" dies together...

To be fair, they can't compare to EPYC since they don't have one. They're downclocking the 1800X to approximate an 8c/16t EPYC chip I guess.

Bloody hilarious! On one hand try and imply that Epyc's NUMA clustering is inefficient and a negative that requires more software optimization to work.

On the other hand, in their own manuals state it's the "Best" way to optimize even their own CPUs to get better local latency for performance.

I'd be interested how this goes as i'm considering do an upgrade with the same parts.

Changed my motherboard to the msi mortar as the gigabyte one didn't have llc options plus the cpu voltage option is a bit vague. Motherboard arriving tomorrow with the cpu sitting here today =/

Nope, its a second pc that will be used for gaming and possibly some video rendering

I used to think of a Core2Quad's as a cheat with the way they were made, but honestly, if it works, it works. no one at the time seemed to care about it because it was Intel.

I think AMD made a tough yet smart decision with the way they constructed their CPU's.

That glue is probably better than the toothpaste they are using as a thermal solution

Same went for the dual socket system. Never seen any moaning from the poor the cross communication performance and that was pretty bad.
