*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Hello, Has anyone got advice and suggestions on a M-ATX Ryzen motherboard please?

I've got a Corsair Carbide AIR240 and want one to fit that offers M.2 and overclocking

I'm looking at the Biostar X370GT3. I'm thinking being X370 it will get the latest support.

I've done my order now, I went with a Ryzen 1700x for £290 here at OCUK and I grabbed an MSI B350M Mortar Artic elsewhere because OCUK do not stock it, I also got a white Corsair 240 which is the small form factor Cube earlier in the week. I've yet to get the DDR4 or OS but I'll get the memory on Friday and the OS once I have the money. I was going to wait for Coffeelake but an 8 core 16 thread 1700x for only a tenner more than a 1700 is a pretty good deal.

Has anyone had this board and is there anything I need to know?

EDIT: I just cancelled the motherboard as I was digging around and read about issues with it. It's a shame as i could have gone with an all white design but black and white will be fine, My current build is back and red and they're like belly buttons so I needed a change.

I'll finally be all set to put my Ryzen build together tomorrow.

After asking for suggestions in the motherboard section 8pack pointed me to a suitable motherboard and ram so now I've the following parts for the 1700x build

AsRock AB350m Pro 4

I'm disappointed there wasn't a cooler with the cpu so I had to order one, I went with a Corsair Hydro H100i but it needed an AM4 bracket which they haven't got in stock, Fortunately they did have an Asetek one that they assured me will fit so I'm all set to get it built once the ram and cooler turn up tomorrow.

I mistakenly ended up with 3 spare AM4 brackets for the H100i, so if you need one hit me up, can send you one. :)

Its kinda funny how when Ryzen was released the 1800x got smacked for not beating or get close enough to the 7700k and now we have hardware unboxed just upping a vid today where a 1600 gets very close at 4,0ghz vs a 4,9ghz 7700k in a good amount of titles..

Yeah but 7700k's can run at 5.0ghz+ so obviously it's betterer ;).

On release the motherboard bios's and memory controls needed work so while there are some titles Intel excell in Ryzen's performance has improved since day one.
