AMD Zen3 event thread

Direct link to the CPUs, only the 5600x comes with a cooler.
If you look at their tray codes, there's space for one SKU extra between each of them. So we'll be getting more CPUs later on.
Looking at the default memory speed it don't look like fclk is getting boosted.

I don't get peoplease maths.

  • The increase from the 3600x to the 5600x is 25% ($239 to $299)
  • The increase from the 3800x to the 5800x is 12.5% ($399 to $449)
  • The increase from the 3900x to the 5900x is 10% ($499 to $549)
  • The increase from the 3950x to the 5950x is 6.5% ($749 to $799)

Would be great to have them at same release price and tbh it appears AMD are reaping rewards with higher profit margins. However it isn't the 50% some people are shouting about though. Although yes the 3600x increase seems steep.

5th Nov a little later than expected, but at least motherboards will be flashed.

Prices are up, but then so is performance so no foul there really?

No coolers? So an extra £20-40 needed?

Nothing about memory speeds, infinity fabric clocks?

So Ive been waiting a month for the launch to see if I should change my plan of an i9 10850 to a Zen 3 and not sure Ive seen any thing amazing enough to change my mind.

Was one of the Zen3 range comparible or better than a 10850 at a better price point?
I was thinking along those lines too, I mean I can order one and a decent Z490 today. Sticking with AMD could mean a worst case scenario of having to wait til next year AND still have to buy a new mobo. Not to mention I'm also after a big Navi or 3080 level GPU too.

watch the video re memory access to each core is now direct etc.

Why is everyone moaning at comparing the price of the new CPU to the current price of the old generation? Since when is that going to be the same? £50/$ bump isn’t crazy.

don’t forget intel would have been charging you £1000 for the 10900 if it wasn’t for AMD :D

$50, not 50%

because they have their own gpus :o:o

Most gaming benchmarks prior to 3080 were all 2080ti coupled with highest end Intel / amd cpu.

The fact they used a 2080ti is far more representative than using one of their own older gpus that doesn't compete.
