AMD Zen3 event thread

When are we expecting to see the next Ryzen series?

What I mean is are we expecting the next gen with DDR5 next year?

I'm tempted to upgrade my 3700x to 5800x but it probably isn't worth it and even less so if next gen Ryzen and DDR5 are coming next year.

Too early to guess accurately but I doubt it will be before 2022.

The Core i7 10700K is £340 currently and the Ryzen 7 4800 is going to be over £420. Even the Core i5 10600K is under £250 now.

But, but, but..............................................all that matters is Gaming............................unless you is king of gaming nothing else matters...............even price. Well..............that's what Intel fan boys have been saying for the last 4 years or so.

£247-£278 for the 10600k with it averaging out at £255 across 14 retailers. If the slides above are correct then it depends if you think the 13% 1080p performance increase is worth it for gaming at that extra £40 ish price.

Honestly if they had brought it out at £249 it would have been an easy win tbh. At the previous £239 RRP then it wouldn't have us all in arms unfortunately.

They could have honestly raised all the other prices as they have and left the 5600x at the lower price and would have not had any of these conversations happening.

Intel users have constantly been banging the drum for the past several years that price/performance doesn't matter and if you want the best gaming performance it's worth any premium. Time to pay up. ;)

3600 (£200) to 5600 (£300) is a 50% increase

i ####'ed up earlier, its $299 for the 5600X

The 3600X was $229 so it a $70 jump, i'm sure there will be a 5600 none X later at $249, maybe $279. that's ok, just, AMD have earned it. Its still not expensive.

The 3600x was not $329 the 3700x was $329

There’s murmurs of a Zen3+ in a years time so end of 2022 a year later seems to be reasonable.

So what's the sweet spot for gaming, 5800x or 5900x?

It would be a toss up between those two for me, I'm learning towards the 8c 5800x because I don't think the 100hmz difference and cores will make a noticeable difference???

Are some of you seriously complaining about price points when Intel have been sucking bank accounts dry for years?

Tell you what, go and buy yourselves an i9 10900k and continue crying into your cornflakes.

Presumably review NDAs won't be lifted until the start of Nov, so that's it. Nothing else to talk about for another ~3 weeks.

With the MSI cashback offers, now might be a good time to buy a new board and 3600 - come back to Zen 3 in the new year.
