We're now in a situation where buying the 2 lower SKUs your not getting a increase at all and maybe even a loss in multi core performance at those price points from the previous gen.

So who is considering buying a 5600X at £300 then?
Anybody?

Wait, +19% IPC but -25% cores makes it faster in multicore/productivity?Are you being sarcastic?
Of all Zen 3 processors, 5600X is the most tempting one.
Faster than 3800X in multicore/productivity
Faster than 10900K in gaming and single core. Probably within a shout from top Zen3 too.
And all that in 65W.
I've not done thorough market research, but by looking at the best selling CPU charts on a certain internet retailer I get the impression £290 is more than most people are willing to pay for a CPU? It seems the majority of people aim for something in the £200 or less bracket. I think that might be the central cause of the annoyance, the cheapest CPU of the new lineup is a decent amount more that most people would spend on a CPU.
Hopefully the 5600x will be the best performing CPU at that price point on release. I was hoping the launch would have something in ~£200 price bracket for me but I can just about stretch to £290.

3600 matches 2700X in multicore. Same thing.Wait, +19% IPC but -25% cores makes it faster in multicore/productivity?
Think I'll wait for benchmarks before drinking that particular Koolaid... heh.

Don't know if you noticed but it was a question... I was asking if anyone here was looking to spend £300 on a 5600X.no one, but I imagine there will be some who consider it at £289.99
Whether the IPC increase, 100mhz boost and 30w lower TDP are worth the extra to you is irrelevant - for some it will be
Are reviewer NDAs being lifted on November 5th?

You didn't say "matches", you said "faster". They don't mean the same thing.3600 matches 2700X in multicore. Same thing.

You just said the 5600X would be "faster" in multicore/productivity than a 3800X.

I feel you're going to be making this correction several more timesGiven that it's not £300 though, probably not
!!!Yes, I expect so, because IPC gain is higher this time. You didn't say "matches", you said "faster". They don't mean the same thing.

The 5600X should destroy the 3700X in both single and multi. So it's actually more performance for less money considering the 3700X launched at £329.99. The fact the 3700X has dropped since launch is irrelevant.
It won't win in multi core workloads just like the 5800X won't beat the now cheaper 3900X in multi core. The 5600X should destroy the 3700X in both single and multi.
