Amiga games

a little off topic as in not scary but Sunt Car racer was great made my belly feel funney on the jumps well good game for the mighty Amiga.

Stunt Car Racer was amazing, anyone who could port/emulate that on the PC would be a king in my eyes :)

F/A-18 Interceptor. I don't know why, but I've never felt another flight sim has captured the sensation of flight as well as that game...

Anyone know of a good Amiga emulator for non tech savvy member that will run on Vista?

My favourite game was Alien Breed followed by a WWI flight sim that I can't remember the name of.
That would be WinUAE. However the legalities of using it are a bit awry as you need the kickstart roms (which can be purchased legitamately from Amiga Forever (company is Cloanto).

Scary games.... hmm can't really remember any... I guess Ghost n Goblins in it's own right was semi-scarey to a degree!

Silent Hill IMHO was carp as they covered everything in fog and tried to get a cheap scare out of everyone - come on you had to know sooner or later something was going to jump from the fog?

The fact that there was fog indoors also did my head in. Perhaps they used it because of the limitations of the game engine or something..

Resident Evil was much better the start video was great (for the time) and really set the scene... more the video clips than the actual game but the game itself was good unlike the appaling Resi Evil 4 which shouldn't even bear the name.. it certainly has no real resemblence to it (damn FPS's everything goes that route now)..

I loved interceptor. Came free with my amiga, that and i think Treasure island dizzy.

Speedball 2, xenon 2 and supercars2 were a few that comes to mind of games that i absolutely adored. For those who played it. Does anyone remember on Robocop, when you died and you were taken to the scoreboard and the same music was used on an advert on TV for Ariston?.

wow great thread guys!

Used to love F/A 18 interceptor, Hunter, Speedball 2, dune 2, Wings, Armorgeddon, Midwinter, Alien Breed et al

Another favorite of mine that hasn't been mentioned so far was Zeewolf. spend a whole lot of time playing that :)

Also anyone remember Ashes of empire I think it was called, where you played peace keepers in a fictional Eastern European country?

^ thanks. Anyone remember a game called dog-fight. It was only one screen but there was 4 planes on. I used to play 3 of my mates and you took off, had to slowly build up speed by climbing then going down but making sure you didnt stall. then shoot the other players.
Very simple game but well made. Not even sure if it was properly released.

Project One was one of my best games (along with moon stone)

That was a good game in its time. I had the CPC version first but would play the arcade version at any opportunity.

What is with the huge pointless borders? Visual design back then is really odd to look at. Nobody cared about great big pointless borders!

Supercars 2! YES

I used to play Midnight Resistance quite a bit. You had to save your family or something. Pretty emotional stuff.

Also played James Pond through quite a few times.

I remember the first game i ever played - BuggyBoy!!! it was amazing at the time.

Did anyone play Barbarian? You could chop peoples heads off and a little troll type creature would walk on and drag the losers body away, if you had chopped off the head he would kick it off the screen. There was nothing quite like the satisfaction of getting a clean headslice!

Happy times! :D

wasnt too sure about the story. But i remember the first time i played it me and my mate completed it. I think we cheated somehow because i could never complete it again.

Was a fantastic game. The graphics were also quality at the time. Remember that jet level where it flys from side to side over the top of the screen.

cutting edge stuff!

The original lemmings!

F18 has been said - Is there anything close to this for the PC???

Shadow of the beast looked pretty but was crap

Anyone remember Birds of Prey for the Amiga?

Or Campaign?

Two of the best intro's I've ever seen

Can't remember any scary games on the Amiga

Maybe Behind The Iron Gate which was one of the first FPS on it.
