Amiga games

Im looking for a catweasel card at the moment so i can port all my amiga files to flopy so i can fire up the old amiga and play some games on the real deal.emulators are ok but dont think you can compare to a real amiga with 1084 monitor which i still have.:D

Has there ever been as good pinball simulators as pinball dreams and illusions?

History Line

Battle Isle

Dune 2

Swos

Alien breed

So many good games. I think history line is still the most expensive computer game I ever bought at 34.99 (not including console games of course)

The only games that have scared me over the years are

Forbidden Forest (C64) (Creepiest Music Ever)
Dark Seed (Amiga)
Eye of the Beholder (Amiga) (Giant Spiders )
Resident Evil (PS)

Only recent game that has come close is FEAR

You don't need one (although I did have one!), just google amiga and serial cable, and you'll get instructions on how to serial transfer the disk images to your amiga<>PC.

Which was the game where you started on a roof i think as a boy. I think it was on a castle maybe and you can to use a drill to drill down then move accross the screen to the right by means of drilling.

I know its vague but that game was really good

Nightbreed (i think) was pretty scary, the bit where you have to run away fromthe guy in the graveyard, and the weird flying mata ray things. Pity the game wasn't much good though. PP hammer was not "scary" as such, but when the crazy man in the turban chased after you used to make me jump and panic a bit. Lombard RAC rally was scary at how bad it was, does that count?

edit: geeza, just read your above post, that could be PP Hammer that you were referring to, although I think it was probably a remake of another (probably better) game

Only thing I can think of is Digger T. Rock on the NES.

I had an ST and i used to love:

Xenon 1/2
Batman games
Bloodmoney
f19 Stealth Fighter

<Cue tumbleweed>

Edit: So did anyone stay around long enough to try the Quake conversion that turned up in 1998? Needed a fairly beefy Amiga - must have been beyone the reach of most of us: http://amigareviews.classicgaming.gamespy.com/quake1.htm

Further edit: From the CU Amiga review: You can expect up to 10fps in full screen on an '060/50 with AGA, 5 on an '050/33 and 2 on an '030/50. 5 is bearable, 10 is great. Graphics cards add only around 15% as most of the work is calculating the polygons, not displaying them – the best thing about the graphics cards is getting the lovely 16 bit modes.
To speed up, shrink the screen to 80% and select 1x2 pixels. Type d_midcap 2 and d_mipscale 2 at the console and then try – you may end up playing with a screen as above but you can add a lot to your frame rate. Look for a guide to getting the most from Quake next month.
You wonder why people bothered...

Even further edit: Flipping heck! Quake 2 made it in 2002. http://www.mobygames.com/game/quake-ii/release-info

nightbreed was quite good, i remeber a screen with a car driving around and you would run out of fuel. It would crash quite a lot though like most games on the amiga so i didnt play it much. moonstone gave me a red flashing faulty screen just as i got all 4 stones to enter the valley of the gods. ****ing great!

Yep, think it was PP Hammer. Maybe a remake

im trying to remember the name of a game. I hope it was real im pretty sure it wasn't a dream.

Anyway it was a platformer and you walked along gunning things down. I think you were a robot or something because as you got hit bits of you fell off and eventually you were just like a mechanical man.

The only other thing i remember is that at the end of the first level you got to the boss and he said "Please Dont Kill me!!" and then for some reason his trousers fell down?!?

This all sounds pretty odd now i have thought it through. Anyone else remember this game?
