Really looking forward to this game, the videos that have shown the in game gameplay, are awesome, and if it can deliver the goods will be the greatest game of 2006 IMHO.

Have you seen in the new IGN movie? Has a really good fighting scene with a guard outside a dungion entrence, looked really good, he sliced the guy playing and he had blood all down his sword lol.

I plan to make an Imperial theif because that just sounds really cool, following people about, killing them if they are alone or just stealing there gear. I mean with the radient AI system you can follow people about for a day or three and get to know there general time table, then when they go out in the morning you can nip in and make off with there loot lol.

Or, you can just murder them if they ever go for a walk in the woods and then see if they have a key (Unknown if house keys are yet implimented or not).

Yeah cant wait, im in need of another game, but not much has took my fancy lately, ive never played WoW or guild wars and was considering getting one of them two but this looks so good Im just gonna wait, then I can dedicate more time to it :)
My only dilemma now is wether to get the pc version or 360, anyway dont want to open up that can of worms again lol, just read the arguments over in the console section.

Well if you think your computer can handle it then get it for the PC :) if not then the 360 should do.

I dont have one myself but thats something I have always liked about the consoles, the games will always run at decent fps without having to spend a few bob on upgrades.

This is the thread I was refering to, seems im not alone, lol

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17540373&highlight=oblivion+360

The biggest problem Im gonna have when I buy oblivion it is getting my boy off my pc long enough for me to play it, my 360 and pc share the same monitor so when hes on my pc which is 90% of the time I cant even use my 360 :(

Ive decided to preorder the pc version anyway seen it £24.99 delivered, cant grumble at that :) if i like it that much I may get the 360 version at a later date, if I can find a cheap enough monitor for my 360 to use I can then have two oblivion profiles playing at once, if my boys on the pc I an use the 360 and vice versa/ problem solved, * goes to check out sub £100 monitors*

Im gonna sell some stuff on Ebay, got an old x52 joystick i never use and loadsof old games. With the money I make im gonna preorder the collectors edition and buy some more RAM :)

My most looked forward to game this year cant wait to play it, so what chars are you going to make first ?

I like playing mages but in morrowind the lack of mana regain sucked but Oblivion has this so maybe playing a mage will be more fun. Think I'll make a pure mage then a stealther after im done with him with marksmenship.

I imagine I'm not alone when I say that I cant wait for The Elder Scrolls: Oblvion to be released, the gameplay vids I have watched look amazing and the new AI system at first glance seems to be mind blowing.

However my main concern is that those vids will have been recorded most probably from a £3000 Alienware PC, I hope the developers have taken into consideration that there are a lot of people out there without the specs to play this, if you have not seen the spec already check this http://elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_faq.htm

Luckily I seem to meet the 'recommended spec* but am wondering what the gameplay will be like running at just the recomended spec.

My PC spec is below and like I said I should be able to run it..... just how good is my question?

I'd be interested to hear what people think of this and any replies will be greaty appeciated.

Cheers

AMD 64 3000+ (clocked to 3800+)
2Gb Corsair PC3200 RAM
Sapphire ATI X800XT
80Gb SATA HDD

Gotta say I'm looking forward to this too although I'm not going to have much time in April and May to play it! Looking at the recommended specs I think my 6800 ultra and Opteron @ 2.9ghz should play the game ok at 1280x1024 hig detail with low/no aa and af. Hopefully it'll live up the the hype. I can't say I've looked forward to an rpg as much as the old Amiga days - "Legends of Valour" and "Legend" anyone?

i read somewhere that the vids released a year ago sometime were done using a 9800pro, so maybe its not as demanding as we all think:eek:
Yes, it will be. If you want it to run looking as nicely as the 360 version you'll need a top end PC. I can't remember the exact specs but if you don't have one of the latest and greatest graphics cards you won't be able to run it at a high res with all the eye-candy turned on.

First of all I plan to make a Bow/short-sword Imperial male, with some magic ability. Hes going to be a ex-gladiator who chose to follow the Dark Brotherhood and now assasinates people.

Occasionaly he will just stalk people around of his own free will and kill them to see what he can find :).

I am confiddent that my X800 GTO2 (overclocked) can handle game at decent settings, when I buy that extra RAM I will have about 2.75GB in total :)

Every time I read something like that, it convinces me this game is going to be amazing, just from the things it allows you to do. Sure it has a nice long main quest, but the ability to just go off and follow your own path for a while really appeals to me. :)

I think IF this game is the success it pans out to be and builds on the success and failures of Morrowind (falling through floors, getting jammed in rocks). Then this could entice more into the RPG realm :)

Already got me intrested just looking at the previews.

I have never played another RPG game except MMO's, I usually play FPS or RTS, if its pulling in new fans to the genra even before its released just imaging how many it will pull in when some FPS'ers plays it at there mates house :)

I still can't decide about this :/
I usually love RPGs but I really wasn't keen on Morrowind, it just didn't interest me no matter how many times I tried to get into it. But I am willing to give this series a second chance. Guess I'll read through loads of reviews and decide after release.

Im gonna preorder the collectors edition this friday, last friday i preordered battle for middle earth 2 collectors edition :)
My character is gonna be a nord warrior thats a master of the double handed swords but would rather talk his way out of it, oh and has a thing for the ladies ;)
Im basing him around mel gibson off braveheart so ill be doing a lot of modeling adjustments, he will even have war chant abilities so it boost his and allies moral :)
