I got that last night :) Very nice shield, looks awesome with a full set of ebony/dwarvern armour

Oh, and may I recommend you download this mod? It automatically upgrades quest rewards as you level up. For example, if you got that shield at level 10-15, then without the mod, it would only give 20% reflect and +7 endurance, and would stay like that for the rest of the game, which means it gets less useful as the game goes on :(

Ah I was wondering why mine was 20% :( not that I use a shield but still...

Nice! What type of character are you? And level?

Edit: Also, whats the name of the mod that reduces the size of the text when you look at your inventory so that more items fit onto the list? I'm guessing your using that unless it's just a different resolution.
I'd say he's a thief/assassin at level 15-20 :)

Here's the UI mod:

Or, if you only want the smaller items:

Funny, you should say that. I just installed that in the morning :D . Good mod.

I'm a customised battle mage. I'm really at level 21 but haven't slept so am still at 20 ;). I started off using a lot of magic but recently i've started using more blade, since i've enchanted stuff for strength and blade (93 strength and 84 blade). Its fairly easy to take down enemies, especially if you fortify skill in blade and strength with magic so you are 100 / 100 before a fight.

For the improved UI, BTmod http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=1825

Sounds cool, I wanted to be a thief/marksman/blade type person with some magic too, but due to my very low magika and low magic based skills, it hasn't quite turned out that way.

And thanks for the mod link, saw it ages ago before I got the game and had forgotten the mod name.

A quick question, does everyone else keep all their millions of keys on yourself as well? Or do you deposit all/the ones you don't need at a house or other location?

Also, am I right in thinking you can't get rid of quest items in anyway? For example the Blade of Woe you get given from the Dark Brotherhood. Although it does not weigh anything, I like to keep anything I don't need elsewhere to keep my inventory clean.

EDIT: Also (I know another! :p ), what is the cheapest way to recharge magical weapons? A bow I have, "Dragons Bow" costs about 1200g to recharge from a mage guild member fully, and it runs out quite quick, and this seems VERY expensive to do each time, is there an easier way? :(

you'll want the blade of woe later btw

anyone know what the best bows ingame are? I'm kinda sick of being a higher level but being stuck with a bow that does 50% of the damage that some of these blades/blunts do, going from being able to sneeksnipe and insta kill EVERYTHING with my bow to having a realy hard time is kinda annoying, and that the quests give you harder baddies as your level goes up, NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL YOU STARTED THE QUEST AT, makes for tough going!

That was the problem with Morrowind, you would reach a certain level where you could one hit everything. Well not one hit but at least a quick fight. It just makes the game interesting. Certain levels will make new animals spawn. Like now im past level 10, bears spawn in the wilderness and i get new kinds of dremora. There is a range of animals which stop at a certain level. So if you level 20 or 30 you can beat them quickly. Some monster like Liches, Wraiths...erm i think a few Goblin warlords all level the same as you. So you can be level 70 and still have a difficult battle. (though by level 70 i think you would have done all quests possible).

To amplify: all monsters in Oblivion are fixed level; what changes is which monsters are spawned when you enter an area. Thus, if you enter an area at level 1 it will spawn level 1 monsters - rats etc, but enter the same level at level 20 and t will spawn level 20 monsters. But each type monsters does not get any more powerful (although IIRC some monsters can spawn at more than one level). There are a limited number of exceptions to this which do track your level, and these are mostly related to quests - to make sure quests stay equally hard.

so anyone know a vauge answer to my question? is there a realy good bow for later levels?

Best advice I can give is to complete all the mage guild reccommendation quests and then enchant your own bow. I did that and am now enchanting all my own stuff, it's amazing. Glass longsword with 20 shock dmg in a 10ft area completely rocks. :D

Yay finally got the damn LOD textures to work, it's sooo much better.

I hereby take back everything I said about the graphics, on my system it is utterly stunning and with the music, totally immersive.

Hats off to Bethesda :)
