ok i need a little help here, well to be a bit more specific i'm looking for an alternative solution to this.

ok so i'm doing the dark brotherhood quests at the moment, i'm at the 2nd dead drop contract called "next of kin"

I'm on the same quest, except I'm having a little more trouble. I have killed the mum, and have moved onto the first son in the Imperial City, however, when I attack him in his sleep i takes about 2 more arrows to kill him, and I get a bounty, and before I can escape from the house a guard comes in. How do I combat this?

locked out

I've ran out of lock picks and cannot find anyone who sells them....even the bloke that gives you the thief missions and the bloke who buys the bent stuff off you don't sell them anymore????

hey hey .... kinda got a problem
has any1 else woke up a vampire
ive killed every vamp ive come across and apart from a heavy armored orc vamp i was attacked by none of em's put a blow on me
how has this happened and whats the cure cause no mission has appeared to sort it out

Hey Stu :)

Have you bought any from the guy just hanging around outside Imperial City?. If not follow the main wall around and there is a guy with around 50 to sell!

You contract a disease called Polymorphic Haemophylia or something when you battle vampires, if you don't cure it within 3 days you become a blood sucker!

Try talking to the priest/monk guy on the road from Kvatch camp to Kvatch City, he will point you in the right direction iirc!

Depends how you feel about doing it but there is a mod available which allows you to buy a potion of cure vampirism for around 750gold!

How do you get BOTH chorrol items??! (sword AND shield?)

Not sure what would happen if you pickpocketed after the exchange?

Got a better sword now so I never tried!

Okay so I started to loose intrest in oblivion after my mage character started to suck monkey nuts, hardly checked the thread or been keeping up with the mods thaty have been coming out.

But, has anyone released a good Mage Guide? Right now my mage sucks because I just lvled loads and didnt upgrade my spells at all, Im low on money and cant buy any powerful spells because I cant get out and make money because my current spells suck, its a bit of a bad place to be.

I wouldnt mind remaking my Mage character over, because the mage recommendation quests were really good and kept me occupide for about 10 Hours :).

So what are the must have mods and where can I find a mages guide?

EDIT: Oh and anything you guys want in the first post of this thread? Like links and such?

LOL. It's just a normal ebony sword :p.

I hate enchanted weapons atm, since they run out in one run of a dungeon and also i'm not level 50 armorer yet so can't repair enchanted items, which is annoying.

I've found making spells a lot cheaper than actually going out and buying spells and you can also customise them to your own play style, which is handy.

The arena is a very good place to make money if you become grand champion. As grand champion i'm getting 2000 gold a week if i beat 3 levelled enemies in a exhibition fight.

Another good way of making cash is to complete the quest "Order of virtuous blood". After you complete that quest you get (highlight to read) rewarded 250 gold for each pile of vampire ashes you get. There were 6 or 7 in the actual quest itself, so that's a straight 1500 gold straight away, and you also get a nice spell reflect ring

You could always just nick stuff aswell and sell them to a fence :p

I'm a master-wizard atm in the mages guild and when you become a wizard (highlight to read) you get taught a good spell called wizards fury which does 20 shock damage, 20 frost, and 10 fire for 6 seconds, for very little magicka.

Even though i'm a mage, i have found myself recently using a lot of blade (more than i did when i start). If your skilled in blade it really does make life a lot easier in the mages guild quests where you face of against mages with little or no armour. My blade ability (without enchantments) has almost taken over my conjuration ability which is at 73 :)

I've played my mage character up to 51 and he is pretty powerful. I can run through a dungeon with only a robe on and kill everything with ease using my daedric claymore and my main attack spell (fire dmg 30pts, frost dmg 30pts, shock dmg 30pts on target). I choose these skills:

Breton
Birthsign - The Mage

Endurance
Luck

Alchemy
Blade
Destruction
Alteration
Illusion
Sneak
Heavy Armour

It does not really matter what major skills you choose because in the end you turn out the same. I chose those because they are the skills I use the most. Mages can feel pretty weak at times but at later levels I found it a lot more fun with chamelion spells etc.

A quicky on mages and spells:

If you make a spell that does 60 damage for one second and a spell that does 30 damage for 2 seconds do they both end up doing the same amount?

BAscily:
1x60 = 60
2x30 = 60
?

still having really bad crashing problems, i havent played the game for more than 10/15minutes without a crash :(

That sounds a little worse than most mate?

Are you running overclocked? have you tried disabling hardware sound?

Just completed (or what I believe I have completed) the Dark Brotherhood questline, and all I can say, is wow!

Spoiler (for those who have done the same or are interested:

I really didn't see the betrayals coming! When I was killing the black hand members (when I didn't know) I was thinking to myself, "Hmmm, these guys are pretty hard!" I could still kill them, but was hard none the less! When Lachance approached me in Bravil after killing the listener, I wasn't sure if he "conveniently" turned up as I killed him, or it really was him that was the traitor. When the person altering my dead drops mentioned the robed man, that confused me even more! And then, after going to the farm and finding they had killed Lachance, I believed it was him until I read my quest log which said I should wait and find out the real traitor! However, great questline, and Betheseda really did work their asses of with this game! I completed the thieves guild the other day too, and the end to that is great as well!
(Am I right in thinking the end of the dark brotherhood is when you become a listener? And you have to visit the statue once a week? What if I don't visit the statue once per week? Do I get kicked out or something? )
Also, wow! The weapons you get, may not be great, but sure worth a lot and lots of enchants with them! The Black Hand outfit looks A LOT cooler than the shroud armour! :p I can tell I'll be wearing this for a while!

To amplify: all monsters in Oblivion are fixed level; what changes is which monsters are spawned when you enter an area. Thus, if you enter an area at level 1 it will spawn level 1 monsters - rats etc, but enter the same level at level 20 and t will spawn level 20 monsters. But each type monsters does not get any more powerful (although IIRC some monsters can spawn at more than one level). There are a limited number of exceptions to this which do track your level, and these are mostly related to quests - to make sure quests stay equally hard.

M

Yeah from what my guide says the quest related guys are Orges, Minotaur Lords, Gloom Wraith, Liches, Dremora Valkynaz and Xivilai. None of which i have seen yet! Well the minotaurs protecting a Unicorn and thats it.

Level 23 is pretty much the highest monster you could face (which is a lich). But if your good with the construction kit this can be edited. Just make a dungeon full of massively buffed skeletons ;)

Man, I love alchemy so much. At the moment it is making me a lot of money which is fun!

Basically I go and buy out all the stock in a alchemy store and on the spot make up a load of potions (combining with other things I collect - everything I see!). I keep health and damage potions (some magicka restoration and some other goodun's like invisibility) and the other potions I just sell on. :D

At the moment I make about 1500gold profit for each excursion - whilst it isn't loads if you're skint it's great. Also by doing this I don't have to worry about merchants not having enough to buy enchanted weapons.

At the moment a fatigue potion gets me about 21gold, how much is the most you can get for a self made potion? Also what is the best potion around you can make.

And finally.... how do you kill Wil-O-Wisps!?! They are invincible (and I was using a enchanted weapon.)
