I think I'm going to have to download it, I've spent a lot of money upgrading for this... can't wait any longer. :)
Will have to buy the box when it's cheaper sometime

Let us know if it works for you mate. I hope i'm not the only one and that my being able to download from the UK was nothing but a fluke!

EDIT: I've just had a thought, is it possible that they have only just put the location restriction on and that I managed to "get in" before they did so? That could perhaps explain it.

Do you mean download it for free? :S Or buy from a diffrent country and download with the key?

Doesnt really take my fancy with that type of game but if its as good as you people say it will be worth a buy.

Lol no you don't download it for free. We aren't discussing Warez here. :p

Direct2Drive is owned by Fileplanet and is 100% legit and legal. You purchase the game and then download it via their download manager.

OoooOOOOooooW i see if i wear to post a website which sell's games would that be allwed as i have a link to the uk site wear is £24.99 deleverd is that ok to post?

It depends on whether the website is a competitor to OcUK or not. Do they sell computer hardware? If so it's probably best not to chance it.

Hi,

Is there a monthly subscription to this game, or is it a case of buying the game, installing, creating an account and playing without fee?

Sorry <--- noob to the whole RPG :(

Cheers,

Conrad

Nope there is no subscription or monthly fee and you don't have to create any sort of account to play the game. You just buy it, install it and play it.

Thats assuming of course that you buy the physical version from the shops. If you buy the digitally distributed version like I have then you need to create an account with Direct2Drive in order to download it, but once you have it on your hard drive you can install and play it in exactly the same way as you normally would. And without an annoying DVD check too. :)

What are the transfer speeds like from D2D? Tempted to grab it tonight if it's fast, 4gb down a 10mbit line shouldn't take too long if the connection is good.

muhahaha ive managed to fool the system and am currently downloading it :) woo

edit: instructions-

log in then go to "my account" then click "edit my account" and select US (in the "basics" column) as you country of residence.

Add Oblivion to your basket and checkout.

Enter you address as usual but everything proper (i.e not US)

Enjoy waiting for the download to finish :P

Well it is maxing out my 2mb connection but I don't know how fast it would be for you.

I am a big MMO fan but haven't played many single player RPGs, this game looks so sweet though I might just buy it to test the new PC.

The problrm with MMOs is the graphics arn't usually top notch. Imagine this multiplayer. :D
