An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

Seems I'm not the only one that cant wait for this game!?

My only worry is will I be able to play it at decent settings, my rig is as follows

AMD 64 Venice 3000+ (clocked to 3800+)
X800XT
2Gb Ram
SATA HDD

What do people think? I've seen the recommended settings to play the game which I meet but does recommended go off medium game settings for instance?

Let me know what you think

Cheers

I played Daggerfall years ago so might have to look into this. Quite fancy playing as a theif type who is handy with a bow and arrow, might call him Garrett :)

I dont usually like roleplay type games as i am very indecisive when it comes to choosing classes and skills etc.

From what I have seen and read of this game it does not really matter what class you start with, it seems you will be given base stats that of course depend on what race/class you choose but it seems you simply get better at what you do a lot of in the game...... so if you use a bow, sneak and steal from people all the time thats what you will improve at..... no of this wondering where to spend your exp ;)

Indeed, it's actually a really natural progression and improvement system, seems like an excellent idea to me.

Except my processor isnt overclocked to 2.4ghz??? its still a lowly 2ghz, damm that mobo for not allowing me to OC :-(

Oh yeah forgot about that!!!

I'm not expecting this to play at top settings with a great FPS, just want it to look pretty good and run smooth, if I can achieve that I'll be ahppy

a 3200 is the equivalent of a 3.2 ghz cpu m8, doesnt matter what it clocks at (well not really) it is the equivalent of a P4 3-3.2ghz so is well above spec :)

I've never played any of the previous games in the Elder Scrolls series so I'm not entirely sure how this game plays.

Can you kill anyone/Be evil? Say, could I just arrive at a village, pull my sword from its sheath and slaughter the entire population then steal their belongings?

I god damn hope so :D

One problem i can c with that migsy you will have the local constabulary after you before killing the entire populace, and from the reviews they do actually chase you for some time unless you loose them.

yes you can do that but be prepared for the wrath that follows with the city guard chasing you on horseback. Oh and dont be suprised when you kill an innocent that when you wake up, you will be greeted by a darkhood member who wants to recruit you.
