That's a shame you guys aren't enjoying it, I'm still really into the game, I'm just shocked that all the original bugs are still in there.

The least they could have done is resolve these issues, the unofficial oblivion patch has more or less done about 90% of the fixes for them!

Not saying I'm not enjoying it - but it is a shame with all the effort they put into upgrading the assets, etc. that the lighting doesn't show them off to their best.
 
Strange I never had any oblivion bugs, seen the videos on youtube and that never happened in my playthrough.

Only things that popped up was NPC interactions ie both say the same phrase.

Ah I see you're point, yeah the lighting definitely needs improvement.

I've had some with Oblivion gate signs being shown even though there's no gate there till I start the main quest, some weird rag-dolling where the bodies go flying and while being attacked by some bandits in Anvil, the guard did nothing even when he was standing next to them!
 
Enjoying it in a nostalgic way, glad I didn't buy it though (full price at least) a month on Gamepass I'll probably be done with it. Perhaps if it gets huge mod support again then might pick it up when dirt cheap
 
Does anyone else feel being able to fast travel anywhere breaks the immersion? Pretty sure Skyrim didn't let you do that.

I'm enjoying the game, but agree with the other comments about the world feeling a bit flat and dead..
 
omg i just realised to pass the time i can bring up the map and press t to bring up the wait timer lmao i was using inns all the time for stupid things :p

Personally no - travelling everywhere for the sake of it after awhile becomes tedious, though Skyrim was a bit more limited in much more having to discover places before you could fast travel, etc.
 
You don't need the map, just press T.
I don't like that I can't wait whilst I'm trespassing. I needed to wait until some NPCs went to bed and it was early morning still so had to manually pass the time just watching a wall (whilst watching youtube on another monitor) until they passed by and I could rob them of their worldly goods.

I agree with it getting tedious, but I think the Skyrim method was more rewarding as it forces you to explore first. Also what's the point in horses if you can fast travel? :p
 
17 years between them and I'm almost more impressed with the older one partly due to the **** lighting in the remaster. Couldn't quite get them matching up.

I'm waiting for the inevitable patch for OR, so I've stopped playing for the moment, so of course I've restarted Skyrim.

Can confirm there is fast travel, but you have to discover the locations first.

That's why I've been using the mod just mentioned here from as soon as I found it, the map marker one.

I think games like this need a middle ground. Something along the lines of, first you can't fast travel until you've discovered the place, but cities have horse and carts thst you can pay to taxi you to places other towns, even undiscovered ones. Then fast travel only works either say from specific shrines you need to walk to first, and then they take you any where discovered, or, you can always fast travel back to a town, but never out of one. So it encourages discovery on route, but when done, you can get back and stsrt the next mission.

I dislike the fact you can jump around so much with fast travel. Rhe game just becomes click to load new place. Run to chat to person. Click to load next place. Rinse repeat.
 
got umbra sword earlier and started the dark brotherhood quests, oh yeh they quests are as good as i remember, edit also got my illusion magic up to 50 to use a invisible spell by just spamming a low level charm one on people constantly, that invisible spell is so good for the dark brotherhood quests and im guessing theives ones as well

good job bethesda i just got giving shadowmere and the only thing waiting out side was the stupiod horse i have been ignoring for most of the game and no shadowmere, i have been mapping about random stables and passing days in game time and still no shadowmere at fort faragut, might have to use a console command but trying not to, go 20 year old bugs :P

think i had the same problem on my first playthrough 20 years ago even tried killing the stupid horse outside and now theres no horses out side
