Does anyone know how you take advantage of a Bear's cave to gather hides? I was going to go with the Pig Farm route, but there's 3 caves on my Leather works island so I'd rather just use those.

[EDIT]: Ah, nevermind... just noticed they are used for Furs (same icon near enough).

Yeah that would make sense except peasant and citizen needs can be satisfied by just a church, then when you hit patrician they randomly want a chapel again. Tis weird imo

Yeah that is a bit weird, but like I said, I think it's to do with the 30% satisfying them, so you don't have them upgrading and downgrading between citizen and patrician constantly. I don't think there's a function in place for them to be 30% satisfied by a chapel, OR 100% satisfied by a church, so instead, the church satisfies them 70%.

Note that you don't need the chapel for the patricians to get them happy enough to advance, you only need the church. The chapel might help you get a little bit extra tax out of them, but it isn't worth keeping the chapel when you could have a couple of houses there.

hey folks, registered to say thanks to all for tips and answers, i really learned so much from here. Stopped using the trainer 4 days ago (playing a continuous game and wanting to learn everything the fast way), and aiming to make 3 mega cities, all supplyed by the rest of the islands. It's going slow but steady, as i've conceived a perfect supply line for the north and the orient...as time will pass and my cities will grow i'll post some screenshots :)
curently at 6k nobles from 2 cities, the 3rd mega city will spread on a huge island..the biggest on my map, only supplyed by trade lines, not internal farms etc. Still need some calculations and planning to see if its going to work..

Ah, I just discovered a very useful feature. When placing a building, hold shift to see the influence radius of any similar buildings. Very handy when finding out where to place churches, etc.

One thing I hope they fix is I would like to see market places being upgraded per advancement level of your population, I hate seeing amazing noblemen houses around my city then an open courtyard with tents! I want a massive brick/glass market building, like the corn exchanges you see in cities like Manchester or Leeds, and Liverpool. Just takes a little bit away from the game, I wonder where I could provide feedback.

Definitely!

Absolutely, grand marketplaces would be great. I'm not so sure about the corn exchange in liverpool though! St. George's hall would do nicely mind :)

I've satisfied all the requirements for my citizens, but they wont advance. What do I need to do?

I will take a guess here, as I'm trying to figure things out, but if you meet all the requirements and the tax levels are green (and you have not turned off ascension rights) then you must also make sure that you have enough raw material for the peasants (for example) to upgrade their houses to citizens. They need 1 on of wood and 1 ton of tools. Citizens upgrading to patricians need different amounts, as do citizens to patricians etc etc...
Also (guessing a little here) you need more population for a certain amount of that population to upgrade to the next level. So I am thinking that if you meet every requirement but only have a small population then there will be no upgrading. But I'm not sure if that only applies to oriental ascension rights and not the occidental ones.
Maybe someone else could help a little more..?

What level are your taxes set to? They need to be Euphoric before your citizens will advance.

Edit - ah crap, didn't refresh the page so didn't see it was answered already.
