Anyone's game stutter really badly when scrolling over the freshly laid Morias? As the terrain is irrigated and turning green it really stutters badly as the process is in progress. Once it has finished though it goes back to being silky smooth.

What I want to know is ... how is everyone placing their coal creator hut things; they have a large tree requirement area :/

Coal huts are kinda weird. I built one in a big empty area so it was at 100% productivity, then built a couple of tool shops nearby, the productivity dropped then I clicked the replenish trees button and it went back up to 100% (with the tool shops still occupying some of it's area). Don't get it :S

Probably some gaps, spare space, that was filled up when you clicked replenish. It wasnt being used before because it wasnt needed. Only when you deleted some of the existing tree's (by placing tool factorys) did it need to use the spare space... maybe...

it can be strange like that, but there is usually a logicial answer, this isnt the kind of game that gives you free space or resources. Thats for sure.

Ive just downloaded this and playing it. Apart from not having a scooby doo what to do at moment. The game it self looks amazing on my Laptop, so on a decent rig probably looks 10 times better. Once i get to know how it all works, looks a addictive game. Very nice graphics though, and runs very smooth for me.

I love making harbors and walls in this game. Just had to make a new one on my main island because the old one was to small and didnt have enough room to expand. Chose a different shore line I made this. Left enough space for another two piers as well.

Can take five ships at once, and theres room on the side to expand and put in another 2, maybe 3 piers.

Also found out the coal mines are unlocked with the final class, noblemen.

Got up to the third level so far, can't remember the name, Peasant, Citizen I'm on the next one.

I have three islands so far and pushing 2000 population, one southern island for dates and spices so far. The other growing extra wood, catching extra fish and growing wheat for bread.
My only problem is I have managed to keep a positive cash flow, but as I expand I am finding it harder to generate cash flow, I'm trading things like extra cider, linens, wood etc. :)

It's a great game though, just need to source more stone for my walls.

Love this game, but stupid Avast has put me off it tonight. I have autosave set to every hour, and Avast decided to do it's update 2 minutes before a save, and make Anno crash. Can't remember, or be bothered, to do what I did over the past hour. Pff, I'd got over 2000 Noblemen, 1500 Envoys, a historic warehouse and a cathedral. Now I'm back to 200 noblemen and no envoys with no monuments.

One thing that really does annoy me though is when AI players steal islands then don't use them >_<. They already have an island that can cultivate silk, so why do they need to take another, and not use it? Instead they put up 2 lumberjacks and stick norias next to them.

Suppose I can just kill them. :D

AI take land to prevent you having it mate, simple as that. I do it to them too now, if you have several AI players it gets them fighting a bit earlier and you'll find trade agreements between them break faster when there's no more land to capture without a fight!
