Anno 2070

I had the post processing effects set to high and now turning them to low I am surprised at how better the game looks. For me the detail of the buildings etc is a lot more sharp and way less blurry.
Still in two minds on whether to continue with the campaign or jump into a sandbox type game. I did all the campaign of Anno 1404 and it did help in introducing new elements to learn etc at each passing level. I shall see how I go on.

I'm glad I bought it though as it is a worthy addition to the series.

Yes the post processing is mind boggingly poo, I thought I had set my textures to low when I first started a game with it on.

Only annoying thing I have found was the bobbins ubi activation, it seems as soon as you buy off steam an automatic user name is generated which you must use as it is tied to your steam email account which you must use too. Mine was something like shop01gh678347hjg (yep I;ll remember that......).

I'll have a quick 30 min go on Anno 2070, check your watch & 3 hours have slipped past in those "30 mins". :D

Happens to me too often with this game :)

I bought off Steam and could use my existing Ubisoft account. Agreed about the post processing, looks so much better set to low.

Was playing the military mission earlier , but I had nothing but boats?

I declared war but the other party had heli/jets and I built everything required and had around 1500 people but it wasn't progressing onto any other new buildings etc?

Example, in the harbour it asked for Engineers - how is that done? If its done by levelling up the workers I met all the conditions they asked for??

Sorry for the questions!

Also, playing the 'continous' gametype I experienced the same, I got to a point where I wasn't progressing in terms of building new things etc it kind of came to a halt even though I did everything? Any one have any ideas why?

Anyone? :o

Yeh tell me about it, was on it for about 8 hours total yesterday!

Getting to a point where you're not progressing is incredibly vague. Make sure whatever level of civilization you're on has all its needs satisfied, both consumables and buildings, then set their tax level to the lowest in order to advance them.

More info would help.

I only manage to get the Tycoon Workers (I think they're called) to advance one level and then they don't progress. The tax level is always to the left (green) and never put to the higher levels.

I thought it may have been because I haven't built everything, so I built everything and then read the residency requirements (say hamburgers, fish, drinks, entertainment etc) and they're all green yet it still doesn't progress.

I was just hoping someone may know something I am missing out on making them progress - I had 1500 population yesterday but only went up 1 level and no 'new people' appeared in the bottom right corner to build new items / new building/items appear for existing people.

Hope that helps?

Ok here's a checklist of things you should try/should be doing anyway; (Note i'm doing coursework so this will be badly written but hopefully should help)

Go to your city centre. In the data window in the bottom right, at the top right of that there will be a little red icon saying deny ascension rights or something like that. Click it. There should now be a floating icon above your city centre. This will stop population from advancing without your say so.

Everyone needs two things to not move out; yellow or better tax, and be built inside the raidus of a city centre with a road connection. Typically you will set to dark green for pop to move in, yellow when all houses are full, and light green only when you want them to advance.

Build worker houses and make sure they're fully supplied with fish and liquor. This doesn't mean they're not moving out, this means fully supplied. Click a worker house and click on the food or liquor tabs. It will have a graphic showing how satisfied they are with the level of fish or liquor. This needs to be full.

Now your workers are all moved in (Check city centre population section and it will say 350/400 or whatever for current/max inhabitants of that civ level). You can move them off of dark green tax into yellow tax to max tax income. If you build more houses, move it to dark green again.

To advance them, make sure all your houses are full 8/8 and build a casino. The casino radius must cover the houses you want to advance and have a road connection or that house cannot advance. Set your tax to light green, click your city centre and wait. On the worker section it will soon show and upwards arrow and a number, and houses will start having floating arrows over them if you denied ascension rights. Click a house with arrow and press U to upgrade it.

Ok now you have employees. The same process now applies again, only now the things they needed to advance, but not to move out from, become needs to not move out IE in this case casino + road. I'm not 100% sure what happens if you start supplying them fast food and then stop supplying later other than a significant tax drop (Fully supplying a civ boosts tax income) but I wouldn't recommend it anyway. Move them all in, supply fast food fully, set back to yellow, upgrade some more houses, set to move in, set to yellow, supply plastics etc until you have supplied all their needs. I think the last employee need is the Information Tower. Once you placed that and moved them all in and they're fully supplied set to light green tax and you should start getting arrows above those houses that can now advance to engineer.

If this still doesn't help post some screenies of your town, your city centre tab and the employee house tab.

Can't wait for the decorative items in patch 2 this week. Fair play, they are on the ball with these patches. Have already lost about 40 hours+ do this game. Completely lost track of time when playing this earlier!
