**Announcing the Overclockers UK Racing Championship**

If it's the same as Oulton it will be a 10 lap race no opponents, no tyre wear, damage off, I believe at Donny it's SC and ABS on. And it's the GP track, not sure about weather.

You can book in again, but not the same day as i understood it from the first round. they are taking the whole thing on tour according to their FB

Nothing much in the way of official confirmation etc in here sadly, AeroRich has been talking to himself a lot lately lol

I've just signed up to do this. Although I know it's passed I thought I'd give myself a go on Oulton to see where I stack up. I know I'm going to find the Vive hard to get used to but I think I can still set a decent lap on Donny.

Here's my Oulton lap I did on the console.

Car is amazing. Has anyone got any more info on setup specifics. Date, time, weather. I've been setting mine practice to 11th March 11am which is the time trial official date but I'm using overcast as the weather model.

Nice lap. What aids, if any, are you using?

Isn't the track now Donington though??

Yes it was. I've since tried it without and I've managed to match my best with more to come I feel. Loving the car without the TCS and SC gives you such a feeling for it.

I've had another go on Donny but this time I changed the cockpit view to helmet as I feel the positioning may be more matched to the VR. Not sure if I will be able to push like this with the Vive on but who knows. Can't wait to go now really looking forward to it but I'm nervous that it might end up costing me a lot after I've experienced it.

Here's my current fastest Donny lap......

I was the same, i had to promise the missus i wouldn't come back with one lol

To be honest, if you are a 1080p gamer you will be disappointed with the resolution. Then it just depends whether you want to trade resolution for immersion.

I'm waiting for next gen to see if that improves before I take the plunge. That said if they suddenly start going cheap i may reconsider.

I couldn't use anything other than HD/4K. I went from PC gaming to console because it's so much easier and cheaper. I've just had the XBOX S which up scales to 4K which I'm happy with but hopefully the new generation XBOX will be native 4K 60fps. I'd love a new rig but at the moment I don't have the time and money to put one together.

There you go see, I just saved you £750 :) although to be fair you will know what I mean once you've been.

In PCars the lap info box with your splits etc that you change to show different info, that's illegible and useless in VR. It's like driving with the wrong prescription glasses on. The screen/lens hardware in the headsets just isn't there yet, I haven't heard much about whether the VR tweak that the devs put in Project Cars has improved this at all...I will ask around.

I know on mine and another competitors' run, the splits weren't visible at all.

Whether that's been the same for all, I don't know, but it could be a new ploy by the organisers, together with keeping 'schtum' about the lap times, hint-hint.

Would be nice to have an update as I don't want to travel up unnecessarily, might ring them up tomorrow.

hi guys, after going through the pages of this thread i`m still not 100% sure what are the official assists that will be on at the event. at the moment i managed to get a 1:30:504 with only ABS on, i`m sure i can drop the time a bit, but i would like to know the official assists so i can familiarise with the feel of the car. I`m currently on a t300rs and i did no tweaks in the settings other than the force feedback from 70% to 100% as lots of people say that the t500 feels stronger than the t300rs and i wanted to replicate that. anyone here can tell me what to expect when going from a t300 to a t500?

My little lad was ill on the same day as my booking, so had to take time off work with daddy duties. I will be down in the next few weeks, I just need to make another booking. I need to get my g27 out of the attic as it has been there since Black Friday lol. As for my time I posted, it was a screenshot using my xbox 360 pad at home on my LG 4k monitor. Think admin should update us all on the fastest 6x times pretty please! ( I asked on the Fb page but no response )

ABS and Stabilty control on, overcast conditions.

Run it in solo race mode, 10 laps.

A 1.30.5 is definitely in the ball park, I think the fastest steam lap is a 29.1 in TT mode but that's with a custom set-up.

Running in TT mode doesn't let you cut as much as race mode, so do it in solo and you'll have a better idea of the track limits on the day.

I've got a G29 and found there wasn't that much difference, not enough to drastically affect your ability to adapt to the 500 anyways.

Good luck.

SC on? This info seems to change every time someone asks. Can someone in the know say for sure??

SC is definitely on as it was confirmed on the FB page. Bet I could get close to that 29.1 if I spent time on a tuning setup. My z4 gt3 is an animal with its custom setup :-D
