**Announcing the Overclockers UK Racing Championship**

You can do it in game Rich

Options - Gameplay - Onscreen guides & display : Cycle Lap Info = On
then:
Options - Controls - Edit Assignments
On the right under game, map a button to cycle the lap info, you can then see your session best vs current as well as the last so many laps in the session, and can cycle through the different HUD display options. Obviously you need the HUD on to see these.

You don't need an app mate.

Ok, thanks mate, I'll try that.

I've got a lap HUD thing up on screen but it just show's my best from TT, I think - and shows the splits, green or red, but not the overall lap times from my current session.

It'll show the current laps splits but not the lap total, to do that I've got to cycle the dashboard readout on the car itself and even then it only shows the fastest lap to the hundreths of the session and once the sessions over, all the lap data has gone.

This is the telemetry program downstairs:
https://pcarstelemetry.wordpress.com/

It will show you laptimes, telemetry and even your lines around the course! Pretty nifty bit of software. Most importantly it will flag laps as invalid if you stray from the course or take shortcuts, which I believe the in game one does not do. Your fastest valid sections will highlight green, as will your fastest valid lap, anything invalid with flag as red.

Thanks Hal, just what I was looking for. :)

Now I got to suss out how to run it haha. :D

The game will invalidate bad laps, its just that it's a bit more lenient in race mode than in TT mode.

I'm just hoping that the 2 systems agree with each other on what's a bad lap or not, otherwise it could call for a re-think as I know I'm pushing the track limits to the max to achieve low 29s.

I'll try it out and report back if I find anything noteworthy.

We base our timings solely on the pcarstelemetry program, meaning that everyones yard stick is the same and there is no need for interpretation between results.

No probs, it all ties in with the game track limits wise, so all good.

So much geekness in this logger, information overload!! Luv it!! :D

Next stop is Wolverhampton!

Location: Evans Halshaw Ford Wolverhampton, 57-73 Birmingham Road, Wolverhampton, WV2 3LS
Opening times: 8:30am - 6:00pm on Saturday 25th & 10:00am - 5:00pm Sunday 26th February

This is a must for car enthusiasts, as there will be the UK Mustang Owners Club meet AS WELL AS the UK Ford Focus RS OC meet!

Hmmm, I've booked up for this Tues at 1pm but having 2nd thoughts now seeing as its gone all petrolhead.
How's the parking round there, looks like its double yellows or residential permit territory.

Just out of interest Hal, what are the solo race mode times of day? ie 10am 1300hrs etc.

If you can get a space on a car park round there should be ok, but that is not the best area to be leaving your car at the roadside. I'm not sure I'll be going to the wolves event now, slightly bad timing but will see if I can sort something.

Actually Sunday shouldn't be too bad especially if you get there early doors.

I believe it is set to 19:00 :)

Not TOO sure on the parking situation, I believe there are 75 spaces reserved for the Mustang Owners Club. These are reserved until 9:30am, and will be free for all after then. Though I believe the MOC is turning up early!

Any idea when we can book for the Silverstone day? Not that I fancy my chances this time around, Hal wasn't lying when he said it would be more difficult to get through this time. Those top times are really quick!

We are still waiting on confirmation on this

What sort of times are you setting in TT and Solo mode?

I was stuck on 29.8s in TT for a while but it's surprising, after seeing those 29.3s being set, that the final 0.5sec comes.

The VR seems faster than the normal PC as what feels like a scrappy lap will be as fast as a good lap on PC.

I think a late 28 is possible but it will take all sectors to be nigh on perfect.

Good luck :)

I just stick to doing 10 lap, solo race runs now and I will usually do a few 29.6/29.7s. My fastest has been a 29.411 and that felt pretty much flawless, I won't be getting a late 28 anytime soon.

I'm so glad I got through in round 1. I've only had a couple of goes on the combo, but I haven't broken into the 29's yet. I'm looking forward to July, hopefully I won't embarrass myself too much.

It'll be interesting to see if all the 'petrolheads' going on the weekend will set any times for the top 6 leaderboard. :D

Usual comments on FB of 'driving gods' and 'I'll own this' being bandied around.

I think they'll soon change their tune when the realise how hard it is to achieve these times on the VR rig, but you never know. :)
