Annoying words that people use

'Tasty'.

All of Lysander's choices made me squirm a bit too :D

A user called Jackgnic will probably reply here with a story about a woman at his work who says 'The thing is...' before every sentance. :D

Both are awful.

My gf used to have the 'black' trait of pronouncing 'seen' as 'sin'. Like "nah, I haven't sin that".

We soon put a stop to that!! Hah!
It isn't a black trait, it is common to Essex and no doubt London too :)

I use loads of annoying words! At the moment, for some reason, I keep adding "tastic" to things like today I said the weather was "awesometastic" in fact I use the word awesome far too much to.

I over use "cool" and start lots of sentences "What I mean is"

Put hey I don't care, it's the way I choose to communicate, people understand me and thats the point of communicating! :p

Saying that (and similar to a thread a while back) any one who uses terms like:
"change management", "motivational" or "corporate policy" should be nuked from orbit.

Thinking about it, another one would have to be when some white guy either starts off or finishes a sentence with "Aaaaight" because he somehow thinks he's in Compton and not Fenton.

Literally

"I literally did it 3 times"
"She was, like, literally, right in front of me"
"They literallly came up and said it to me"

Oh this one I heard recently
"This museum experience literally takes you back in time" No it ****ing doesn't!!

One of the most annoying words I can think of, providing it's used wrongly, which it generally is

Innit? It really makes me want to stab them in the eyes.

Hate people who say that.

Also people who say 'fella'. Like when people say to you 'alright fella' or 'ite fella'

Just want to kick them in the face.

On a side said note when ever some one speaks to me I always say 'What?' before I say anything to them. I think it takes longer for the words to be recognised in my head. Or its 'What? I dont know? Maybe?' If they ask me a question then I usually end up giving a proper answer.

I used to work with a girl who added "isn't it?" to the end of statements, which I really hated. Generally though, it's not words that bother me so much as accents.

I've never understood people who hate accents. I love them. There's nothing worse than a "non-distinct middle England" accent. With one or two exceptions I think they're very sexy on a girl especially Irish/Scottish accents! ;)

A lot of accents mean people just can't speak properly, and it annoys me. I like people to be softly spoken, which just doesn't work with, for example, a Glasgow accent.

Even though Im Welsh myself I hate the Welsh accent. Especially from proper Welsh people from South Wales.

Just want to tell them to shut up and then rip their voicebox out.

One of mine is "ta", both used online and in person, for the first time yesterday I heard a friend utter this horrible substitution for thank you to me
Generally it's internet slang used in real life.

Yeah I see your point, there are certain accents that I find "harsh". Mines a Bolton accent (ala Vernon & Peter Kay). I like it. I don't think I can't speak properly. I've got to admit it's been severely southernised since I moved down here, but still enough to make me stand out I guess.

It's amazing how many people here seem to be '' at common everyday words or expressions. I guess they must get angry every time they speak to people :)
