@the dude and dad story. Tough story and fair play to ya w/e the situation was. Fair play. Litterally sounds like you could write a movie out of that ****!

@the lotto winner. Don't think I could do that. The temptation to go out and buy w/e car I want and anything else that comes my way. No way. But, to the chap who said about the interest and getting it in the right bank,, without a doubt do this. Youve only one life. Don't waste it working away like the rest of us. Take what's been given to you and enjoy your family whilst you can!
 
The lotto winner is always how I'd picture myself doing if I won. Just telling close family (I think my wife would find out :)) I wouldn't want my life to change in terms of family and friends, and let's be honest, it would.

Money changes everything. 4.5m though, wow, what a life turner, if only life would chuck that at me, or a fraction of it :)
 
To lottery winner, smart guy not spending it on useless crapp. That is what most people do then they spend it all in a couple of years on stuff they don't need and end up back at square 1. Keep is secret, it will definitely change friendships I exactly see how. Get some good books on investment and start learning you can set yourself up for life.

If after 2 months into a relationship he did the right thing not telling the gf, he would stay with him just for the money. But now he is sure about her, i think i would tell her the day after the wedding, on the honeymoon. "Oh by the way love......."
 
Well done to the lotto winner, sensible man not to spurge all the money away.

It if were me I think I'd try and make use of some of it, perhaps with secret donations to family and friends if I knew they needed something

i was a virgin who'd never had a gf when i first started seeing my wife but i didnt tell her, i pretended that id had a previous gf because it was a bit embarrassing to have been single all my life at that age. one of those annoying little white lies you tell that snowballs and then it gets too late to retract it.
we've now been married for a few years but i still havent told her as it would mean confessing that id lied to her back then.
deep down it would be nice to let her know she was my first but if she found out it was a lie maybe she would worry about what other lies i may have told, it wasnt a one off lie in the early days she asked some questions about my ex so i made up a story about how long we'd been together, what sexual experiences we'd had etcetera.

hen I was younger. Maybe 14 or 15 I stole a printer. A HP colour
Deskjet. I waited till the computer room was empty, and slotted it

Re: dad and son - Thats what scares me about going into childcare, is that I'll just automatically get tarred with that brush being male. Just as many women are abusers as men but sadly its men that get 90% of the flak.

I know a murderer. Guy who went to my school got all drugged up and stabbed someone.
