Where do the power switch cables on the case (Raijintek) go on the motherboard (Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel)?

Bottom right edge of the board is the front panel connector.

I'm seeing the F_USB1 slot at the bottom right, is it by that?

This info is all in the manual that you should be reading.

But it is the one with multiple colours.

Sorted it out. Lastly, I just noticed that I don't have enough cables for the hard drive and the optical drive. I assume I'll need to get another sata cable so I can use both?

There must have been at least two sata cables supplied with thew board?

I picked up a stand alone SSD which didn't come with a sata cable, I guess I need to pick one up asap.

Look in the motherboard box and at the accessories that came with it.

Both need individual power from the psu.

Hi there. I was looking at getting the Asus VS228DE monitor, however I was wondering if there are better alternatives? I would need the monitor to be matt as it would be in direct sunlight during the day. Also is there any advantage to it being HDMI over VGA? Thanks

HDMI+DVI+Display port are digital signals so have better quality than VGA.

That's what I thought but most of the Asus 1080p ones I see are VGA.

Is it possible to control my case fan from the gigabyte motherboard? When I go into the settings, I can control the CPU fan but not the case fan. Do I need to change some settings in the bios?

Errr,

Are the fans PWM and the board has any 4pin fan headers?

Or install APP centre and Easytune and it may let you set custom fan curves in that.

I'm planning to put a GTX 770 into the build from this thread. Few questions.

1. Why is the display port important, I thought the display comes from the motherboard?

2. Will it be OK to use with a 550w psu and just the case fan and the stock i5 cpu cooler?

1. All outputs if using a GPU come from the GPU, not the motherboard, if from the motherboard it'll use the worse integrated graphics, so plug your monitors into the graphics card

Not reallly, unless you swapped the cable. Anyway, you'd have to take out the GPU to use intel integrated as the output for monitors defaults to PCIE Slot 1 with most motherboards! Any reason as to why you'd want to swap between them? Unless you had two monitors, where one can be on the iGPU and one on GFX card
