Another non punishment for Ferguson

have I ever denied that ? you can hate Liverpool it's not a problem, it wouldn;t bother me and wouldn't breach any forum rules

the reason I can't stand the bloke is because of his lack of any respect, the game and others involved

what it is not is because he is the manager of Man Utd, I detest him, Gary Neville , Rooney but have no issues with Scholes, Giggs, Van der Saar etc, my opinions on each are based on individual merits , of course I am never going to like Man Utd as a club but that's all part of being a football fan, I do have a blanket dislike of every player/ fan

I don't think I've ever said I hate Liverpool?

Hate is a strong word.

Pity, maybe.

Perhaps he will think twice about shouting his mouth off now.

Needed to be taken down a peg or two, especially after refusing to talk to all media including MUTV.

Act your age Mr Ferguson.

So because he told the truth he deserves to get fined/banned?

Because a week later he refused to talk to the media because of the above and he deserves a fine/ban for that as well?

The biased hatred towards United on this forum is a joke tbh, as proved by the OP

so I find that a mild slap on the wrist for the highest profile manager with a long history of contempt for authority to be weak on behalf of the FA, is this not worth of discussion ? why can people not discuss in a sensible manner ?

The only thing he can't do is hassle the 4th official ;)

the only thing the 4th official is good for is to be hassled, i dont see the point in them, its not as if they actually have any affect on the game, im pretty sure they could hire pamela anderson to hold up the substitution/extra time sign like round girls do in boxing/mma and have more of an affect on the game.

unless they are going to start watching replays then i suggest they are replaced with scantily clad models.

It's the fact you have felt the need to start a thread discussing how even though he's been punished it's not enough in your eyes.

I imagine there will be several others that get away with it several times till the end of the season, Wenger as an example always has a pop, should he be banned from the ground as well :D

of course

We don't class them as rivals any more than most other teams we play, but we just, as the song says - "only hate Man United!"

It's not a stoke thing, you walk into any pub and refer to a team as "the **** !" and everyone understands you are referring to Man Utd.

Well not really, in Wolves it's West Brom, most other places I've lived and worked it seems to be the same, whatever team is the local team gets called the ****. In Stoke it should be Port Vale but you seem to want to play with the big boys and have a 'rival'

I'd leave it there G|mp, this thread will only end up the same way that Fergie's misconduct charge went - with people getting banned ;)

I think this is where it is getting confused, he only has 'history' because he's managed in the PL for 20 years!!!

It's not like he comes out every week and has a go, only when we have been shafted by a referee.

Well that doesn't seem to be the case here in stoke :)

get out, be honest with yourself. The main reason you dislike him is because of all that success he's brought to one of your biggest rivals. 20 years ago there was Liverpool perched nicely at the top of the tree and it's been slowly eroded by this one bloke with a gnarled personality and plenty of perceived flaws for people to pick up on and yet consistently just keeps on winning. If someone else had managed United or Everton (for instance) and brought them this degree of success over the years you'd find issues with them to justify the distaste. Success in this instance breeds contempt.

That's not just you btw, or in any way me saying about the modding or anything on this forum. It's true of most fans on here, you can have a dislike but it's other things that really motivate you towards hating someone you've probably never met.

Take me, I never really had an issue with liverpool beyond generalised dislike and moderate rivalry when they were doing nothing, ditto Arsenal the last few years. I tend to revolve my distaste around the clubs who are currently threatening our position.

Oh and Leeds.

there is a process for it though, the managers complete a confidential referee report after each game

So in that case when he is asked directly about the referee's performance is he supposed to ignore them or lie through his teeth?

YOU MUST TALK TO THE MEDIA BUT LIE ABOUT OUR REFEREE'S BEING ****.

When you question a referee's integrity in public like Fergie did then you deserve all the punishment you get. You can't justify what he said via the press., whether you think he's right or not.

"Hatred towards United"? Oh come pull another one. Fergie was in the wrong, he got punished and everyone not a United fan thinks it was right to do so.

If it wasn't warranted then fair enough but you can't spout potentially libellous accusations and think it's ok. I follow Non-League and a manager at that level got the same punishment, minus the heavy fine, for spouting equally false stuff in the local press.

So don't think the FA hates United. Take your tin foil hat off :)
