Another Norris Designs Evo wrecked !

He dont belong on a track imo. Turned in very very early trying to scrub speed on grass?.. In the process taking someone else out and endangering their life! Lucky no one was killed. That was quite a nasty impact. Your brake fluid dont just instantly boil and you have no brakes either.

you do a lot of track racing then? tbh, as always, on the internet no-one knows everything about what happened. the clerk of the course will have a much better idea then anyone flapping their trap on a forum - if the clerk of the course praised the way he dealt with the situation, and thats after an investigation has been carried out - then that says enough for me.

never been on a track but he looks a tool, surely you would go left and scrape it along the wall and narrow the angle?????

I'd have issues with anyone who thinks it suitable to use another car as a 'brake' and put another person's life in danger.

Anyway, could have been a lot worse and everyone involved was OK!

May be a stupid suggestion but defending this guy is a worse crime. As said he put someone elses life at risk and is a complete ********

life at risk? oh dear lord get over yourself, this is the real world not brookside. it was *so* risky that both of them are now crippled in hospital.. oh no wait a sec, both drivers are perfectly fine.

edit;

watch the video, he didn't choose to use him as a brake - he tried to scrub off some speed and just happened to collect him on the way.

What amuses me are the 'if you hadn't hit the car, you could have died' comments...

If he hadn't hit the car, he would have scrubbed off speed on the tarmac and grass then hit the nice, big, springy tyre wall sideways.

I think its funny how so many people sign up for one post on MLR just to have a dig at Simon :D

Kinda unlucky there to collect another car after his run on the grass.Being a proper event he doesnt actually have to pay a penny, no doubt he will help out though.

Everyone knows(inc simon btw) that he isnt the best driver in town, but then he's just a normal bloke that had done well in life and doing something he enjoys.
Saying that the event seems to have a few 'normal' drivers, was a audi driver I have seen there before that was far worse than simon :D

If I was minted like him I would do something like that to, proberly be no better a driver to :)

Norris actually builds the engines in the other Evo's.

What a suicide mission he was on, im sorry but that is not poor driving it is lunacy.

By MSA regulations to race in the uk the car must be fitted with two braking systems, i.e. handbrake and main brakes. So boiling the fluid in the master cylinder would still leave the handbrake. Watch him, he clearly doesnt reach for it, not even an attempt to scrub speed. If he had kept in a straight line on the tarmac, outside line is clear, yanked the handbrake the 300m to the corner he would have hit the tyre barrier with a minimal speed, causing less damage to his car, no damage to other cars and no damage to any people. Also remember the days of thunder saying which actually rings true in most situations, aim for the car cause by the time you get there it is gone. he was always going to hit someone else going to the right, so common sense says steer left.

you notice his first reaction is to jump out the car and run out the way and chat to the marshal, no concern for the guy he just walloped out of the blue through his own stupidity.

His option to go onto the grass was mental, he was damn lucky it didnt dig in and roll which would have caused carnage.

Its the kind of person like this with too much money and no respect who is destroying local racing, the guy he hit could be a guy who spends all he has just to get to the race then some moron wipes him out and probably takes him out for the rest of the season, where as rich git will spend oodles and have his car back next week. Sorry for the rant but you see if all the time in local racing, usually young rich kids with no respect.

oh yeah and i have a full race licence thanks, done lots of training, just need a new medical after the accident.

+1, so true, i also thought when he jumped out of the car that he would go over to the other car, but no, straight out onto the grass bank.

Do you? He chose the worst possible way to handle that imo. He had 3 cars in front which were only ever going to be in his path turning right. He seems to of panicked and made his move.. I dont think he ment to hit any of the other cars but still madness. And yeah i have raced on track and also been to race meetings.. not that i see that matters too much.

Fair play probably wasn't the best decision but probs just panicked, still think he's a bit of a **** for not going to check the other bloke, I guess he's technically not supposed to, but he did crash into him!

err he chucked it into a slide to try and slow it down, but that ofcorse ment he went into the inside of the corner right infront of others, was just unlucky he collected someone else.
