Another Norris Designs Evo wrecked !

Going sideways into grass will slow you down infinitely better than putting the handbrake on.

I dont think he much time to try and miss the the red car! He managed to miss the other 2 though

Knob jocky good and proper. Before I even read the preceding postings below the OP, I came to my own conclusion. He works against the car not with it, agressive is one thing, but the guys got no fludity at all.

True.

He is on the ragged edge at all times. Quite how he manages to string a lp together that sets a LR is beyond me. It just goes to show how effective the car is.

If he handed the reins over to someone who cold drive it well, it could be virtually unstoppable. As it stands, his ham-fisted approach means that cars with less 'ability' leave him for dead.

Aye, from what i've heard he's a proper tool but then again, it seems that many are in this industry. Too much testosterone flying about. All those power tools and torque wrenches no doubt.

Still the only first hand account I have of Simon Norris, is from someone who is in direct competition with the Norris bogey and who threatened to headbutt him.

Not exactly an impartial, bonafide account i'm sure you'd agree.

Still i've heard enough to know that I wouldn't take business to Norris, plenty of other tuners such as RC Developements or Indigo GT, with better reputations.

That, and i'd probably get headbutted if I did.

All mouth, no trousers. The only thing worse than a mouthy chav is a mouthy chav who expects respect because he has money to throw around.

Indeed, he seems to just totally over drive the car and uses it's ability to get himself out of trouble and get good lap times. Prime example of this is at 2:10 when he goes into a corner too hot, gets some pretty major understeer and just kills the understeer by getting on the loud pedal and sliding the arse out. Yes, killing understeer with oversteer is a very effective technique, but if he was smoother and less ragged he wouldn't have got the understeer in the first place......

His lines are strange too, look at the way he takes camp corner. It's a double apex corner and anyone with any experience of Combe knows that you ignore the first apex and aim for the second. He's trying to hit both apexes

Your not one of them, i agree with what you say :)

sorry its just a lot of people are getting "ugly" on both sides of the fence, didnt know what side u was on lol. reading through that other forums thread was a joke. everyone thinks hes a pro. however hes driving one of the best cars and only just leading, his lines are off and he was over driving.

Unless a brake line failed at that corner im sure he would have felt the pedal getting softer and softer, so he should have cooled off his agreesive braking and used smoother lines to carry speed through corners. not brake hard, turn in and slam throttle on.

Once the accident started, im not sure what else he could have done sure its not nice hes wrote off 2 cars this time but he had little time to choose action.

The crash i had within 6 months of passing, i had a few choices. I jumped off the brakes avoided roundabout, hit a kurb at 50mph drove between a lamp post and road sign and stopped up a earth embankment. If i had stayed on the brakes i might have made it around the roundabout fine, or i might have spun, hit the roundabout and rolled over killing me and my mates...those split second choices are hard ones to make.

its ok for us to debate about it now, but we dont know all the facts, and we have a lot more heads thinking about the problem.

That is some of the worst driving I have ever seen! He has what looks like a much quicker car yet he can't drive a decent line to save his life. Pushing way too hard, if he was driving anything other than a 4wd Evo (I guess they allow all the AYC etc) then he would have stacked in on the 1st lap!

I'd like to see how he compares against the class A lot in the DMN championship... ;)

Hell, I reckon even the Class B front runners could hold him off :p

His threats on that thread towards people who take issue with him are childish and the act of a thug and do him no favours at all. I will assume he must have been drinking when he made them and forgot himself for a while, well one would hope thats what it was.

There is no AYC on that car. In fact very few, if any evo's in motorsport have AYC. It is removed on the RS cars (which are basic, stripped, of luxuries and ready to be fettled by rally/motorsport teams etc).

AYC appears to be a bit of a chalk and cheese thing in the evo world, not only does it add weight, many people find it unpredictable and end up fighting it when trying to corner at speed.
