Another Round of Price Increases ?

AMD will want to undercut the 1070 to grab more market share, just like the 480 undercut the 970. 970 was way more expensive until the 480 was released. Nvidia had no choice but to price match :)

The 390 competed with the 970, the 480 under cutting the 970 is really not an achievement at all. Also because of it being the 4gb 480 doing so it makes mess of the pricing with there being 8gb 470's.

gibbo is this just for the 1070 card or is it the same for the 1060 dual fan versions as well?

I have a 1060 dual and now I'm worried lol

Just 1070.

The Palit Dual 1060 is actually our best selling 1060 card, return rate is under 2%, no issues there. :)

I think Sam is having trouble transitioning from wccftech comments where you can say any old crap, and a company forum where the company's head honcho might drop by to call you out.

Yeah, I don't know what margins are on discrete graphics cards to the decimal point, but I'm pretty sure it's not 100% markup. :D

I think I may of read Gibbo say its usually single digits. I was pretty shocked so I don't know if I miss read or wrong.

The Palit is crap, we sold a lot of them as the deal was good but the return rate on those cards is through the roof. Hence why we no longer promote it.

Some statistics:

KFA 1070 Blower: 721 sold, 1.91% return rate of which 45.45% were faulty, 45.45% were unwanted and 9.09% were courier damaged.

Palit 1070 Dual: 200 sold, 11% return rate of which 72.73% were faulty, 27.27% were unwanted and 0% were courier damaged.

The return rate on the Palit Dual is damn right shocking, I sell all the cards but it is clear Palit have made a cost cutting excercise on that product, it is our highest return rate 1070. As such I can no longer recommend this product. The other Palit cards have much lower return rate and we do recommend those as the Jetstream and Gamerock cooler is fantastic.

I do not mind sharing such information as it is truthful and we have the data and statistics to back it fully up should the manufacturer want to question it. :)

The KFA Blower 1070 is function over form, the card is fantastic value but even better it is a reliable product.

P.S. Our service is better, our forums are better and we share such data with our members, do our competitors do this. No so surely you'd always shop with OcUK when prices are the same elsewhere? :)

Glad I paid the extra £60 for the FTW now after reading that! What is the main issue with the Palit Dual? Is it DOA or just lots of annoying issues?

Sam I understand where you are coming from, but sadly your facts are a bit off.

I have done the same too not buying anything for my personal use till prices settle and really kinda lucky at the moment as I don't need to update anything so can wait it out and see how it goes. The simple truth is if you don't "NEED" it don't buy it and if it is all about "WANT" then the answer is again simple don't buy ( I know it is hard as we all enjoy this hobby and hobbies are always expensive when you push for the top).

I'm kinda mad at Nvidia as their prices are stupid right now for basically mid range chips. I feel sorry for the retailers but also getting upset with them with their price gouging too in some cases.

So really perfect time now to just buy what you NEED only and wait for the bigger updates or go second hand.

Squire if you can afford 1TB ssd's and high end i7-5930K cpus, I doubt the price of a GPU is of any concern to you....

Well for a short while this morning the pound plummeted to $1.10, a 10% fall.

Can only see pc stuff getting more expensive and soon so if you want anything, now is the time to buy.

Look at the new LG monitor, first 100 is at old price of just under £1000. If we end up going to this mornings exchange rate of $1.10 then they will be £1500. Thats some hike and the extra would buy a gfx card

Trust me I am gutted, I am waiting on Ford USA for some parts for the car. Was trying to pay for them a couple of weeks ago which would have being:

$1250 / 1.29 = £969

Yet now as they still not taken my monies its going to cost me a further £75

$1250 / 1.20 = £1042

All because of were leaving EU. I am holding of my payment now until next week in hope that it might get back towards 1.25.

I was buying a hoodie from America the day before and put it off, woke up June 23rd feeling a right ****.

See this is my contention on waiting for Vega, with fluctuations and it coming out so much later than the 1070 it could easily be £400 +

On a humorous note my friend mentioned no-one will remember June 23rd as Sonic's birthday anymore.

It was for things like this which pushed me over the edge to buy a Titan. At the time 1080s were going up every day and the Titan was only £250 more than some models of 1080s.

Figured by the time a faster card is out next year, the 1180 or whatever, then it might be the price of a Titanx today!

news said it will just keep doing this for months now . going up and down.

personally i think it wont matter too much on the cards. at the end of the day they need to sell. regardless of the pound/dollar situation.

so probably nvidia or other people will do deals to lighten the blow.as £400 quid plus 1070s are still going to sell just slowly.

low end ones will be £350 and drop.can see it at many retailiers now getting rid of the crappier 1070s and just selling the better versions at higher prices.

still think by jan youll get a £300 1070.now and then only battlefield 1 too make many think about upgrading.

Someone remind me again why the fluctuating pound doesn't seem to affect the cost of tvs or gaming consoles. Not long bought an Xbox One S, primarily for the 4K Blu-Ray player but have been pleasantly surprised by how good games look on my UHD telly. Needless to say it cost a lot less than my 980Ti and will keep its value better. I may just have turned to the dark side. The cost of maintaining a decent Pc gaming platform is becoming prohibitive, it will kill gaming on the Pc eventually.

Typically they are higher margin products or in the case of consoles can regenerate money later through game sales so taking a small hit won't mean too much.
