Yeah ive been eying up 5960x over the last few months but everytime I look they are more money :(

Cheapest ive seen it new was £760, some places now have it at £1,150

I was hoping by now I might have been able to grab a new one for around £600. Looks like it would cost me double that now. Missed the boat on them.

Hell people want (and are getting) over £800 for second hand ones on Ebay :(

Our company gets paid in Dollars so its great for us.
But sadly my wages are still in £s so Im screwed the same as everyone else buying PC parts.

Same here - it's kinda nice knowing that to the company I just became much better value... but it'd be nicer still to be getting all those extra pounds I could get for the same cost to the company as before the drop!

Yeah sold within minutes with about 3 waiting and it was only three weeks ago :(

He could have asked double that and it would have sold. Best bargain on MM this year.

What planet are you on? 6950X is the extreme processor, Intel never change their price on CPU's when launched, the only movements in price come from exchange rate fluctuations. So why do you think all of a sudden Intel are going to half the price over night?

Yes the CPU might only cost them $1 to make, but Intel like their epic profits and have not done price moves on CPU's, for years, when I tell Intel AMD still exist, they just respond with who. :D

5960X perfect example, we launched it at £759.99, that bad boy is now £1049.99 due to the exchange rate. INTEL DO NOT MOVE CPU PRICES, cost is fixed in USD!

Because they were as low as £760 and there is always sales/offers/black friday deals.

Never expected them to go up and keep going up. If somebody had told me that I should grab a 5960x at £760 as within a year they were going to be £1,150 I would have done :(

I have one of the $4000 Xeon's in my home PC, was contemplating selling the home PC on the MM for 1k, entire base unit, 48 core Xeon, 1070, 16GB, 1.2TB SSD, SF 1000W Platinum, Corsair 600T plus more. Was gonna ask for 1 grand until I realised that PC is worth like £6000 LOL. :D

6950X has never being £760, if it was that was one epic mistake and if I ever came across stock at such a price that was legit, not stolen or VAT fraud we'd buy 1000's of them, as they cost over £1200 trade now. Even when rate was strong the trade cost was still over £1000 and those prices are trade excluding VAT.

All components are purchased in USD, the pound weakens, the prices go up thats how simple it is.

Peripherals and monitors are different, they are either GBP/EU based or they are USD but on 3 month rolling contracts, so there prices hold relatively stable and then explode over night. Acer X34A was £899 here until a couple of weeks ago, its now £1049.99 as Acer's quarter rolled over and they updated the rolling rate from 1.45 down to sub 1.30.

Amazon UK, not third party, sold them for £760. And I am talking about 5960x not 6950x :P

ah well 5960X we have also sold at £760 too, but no change of that happening probably ever again, we will be most likely on 9950X by the time the pound recovers.

I know, even your 8 pack binned ones were only £850 from memory.
