AND have smashed it. Literally paying half price in every category for AMD Vs intel. Zen2 will be deviating, saving huge sums of cash and going and makes up for the minor IPC loss, by allowing buyers to upgrade to a high tier of GPU.

9900k + 2070?
2700x + 2080?

It's a win for the consumer, hate the butt hurt fan boys :)))

If the Black Friday sales were anything, you could even do 2700x + 2080ti for the same price as 9900k + 2080 if I recall correctly.

Yay so another Haswell/Skylake rehash with <5% gain in performance with another socket.

So this is going to be a MOAR COARS!!11 design that will boost a couple 100mhz more then the 9xxx series.

Keep in mind Intel's turbo speeds are now "opportunistic" depending on a dozen factors.

ummm, naming a CPU family after something that smashes into the ground as a giant fireball bringing fiery destruction to anything in the vicinity in a an extinction level event. I wonder if it will run a bit hot? ;)

That's a meteorite, comets are big icy balls orbiting the sun ;)

Aren't they usually rocky? If the earth stuck another body of stuff would that make people meteorists?

One thing is for sure unless Intel have fixed its CPU's Comet lake makes no sense. I predict a burn up on entry.

comets are ice/rock bodies. Mostly ice, thus why they have those icy tails. During their journey, they do break up into small bits due to mostly sun/star radiation. And if comet break away bits are close to planet, and enter atmosphere and hit the ground (if they are big enough to not burn in atmosphere) they become meteorites, but that's the bits which broke off the comet, comet still is comet as long as it does not enter atmosphere and hits the ground :)

Amazingly accurate and yet off topic to boot.
