It's normal. Windows doesn't have a real standby function like Steamdeck does and it often works badly, so much so that they hid it

So just to add the obligatory I got an Antec core HS.... It's dead.... :-(

In all seriousness I've sent an RMA so hopefully I can get a working one. With that said I don't have the energy to do more than one chance so if the next one is duff I'll have to call it quits.

@Purgatory still got mine and no issues with battery so far.....(yay!)

However, I'm back and forth from home for a few nights and have it on the dock plugged in via hdmi to a 4k TV, it's only giving me 4:3 aspect resolution options and no sound via hdmi :(
Any ideas? Was planning on watching some stuff on it and a bit of casual gaming, but if I can't get this working then looks like I'll have to lug a desktop pc over here....

Sorry just saw this, did you manage to sort out the issue ?

If not make sure to install the HDMI AMD Driver in the graphics drivers area if missing.

This may explain the audio issue. :- https://community.amd.com/t5/pc-dri...orting-hdmi-audio-drivers-anymore/td-p/364732

and

If you have display issues you can also try this fix that helps revert the drivers back to defaults and removes old cached displays that are not working correctly.

Also make sure to set the correct resolution of the tv once connected in the driver panel or windows display resolution area when plugged in to set it back to a 16:9 desktop resolution and not a 4:3 .

Shout again if you still have problems, also maybe add a screenshot of what the device manger says for audio devices you have when connected to a tv and also the displays showing so shows if it is correctly detecting a tv and same in the amd driver panel and windows display settings.

No worries, thanks for getting back to me :) I didn't get it sorted, I played about with it for a bit then figured I wasn't any closer to an answer so resorted to other means for watching stuff and then went and got my desktop on Friday....

I'll give those a try though at some point in the week, I updated the driver last week and wouldn't have consciously skipped the Audio driver, but I'll check to be sure and maybe try reinstalling the driver WHILE it's on the dock in case it needs to be able to 'see' the device while installing.I doubt it's the cached display thing as I've not connected it to a display previously (although could be I guess if they do so during QA).
The only resolutions available to select were 3:4 aspects, between 800x600 and 1366x768 (~I think it was that anyway). I also have an extra 1080p monitor at my disposal for testing since picking up the desktop.

I'll reply back once I've tested further, thanks again for your help!

Edit: Holy typos Batman :D

@Purgatory - still yet to try with a 4k display again, will do at some point, but tried with the aforementioned 1080p screen and it's all working as expected, including sound (even as extended displays, rather than duplicated!).
Played through a bit of BF3 at ultra settings (with a bit lower AA and AF).
Can it play Crysis?? - No... I'm not sure why but couldn't get it to load.. playing a 2007 game on W11 might be a stretch :P

A colleague mentioned that he'd seen that handhelds generally can't do higher output res than their native screen, but if it can do 1080p then it's a perfect portable gaming setup, I'm now looking at portable USB-C screens... that with a bluetooth KB, mouse and xbox controller would more than meet my needs and make a decent portable setup that will fit in a small-medium backpack :D

Thanks again for your suggestions!

... may have spoken too soon
It wanted to do Windows updates, after looking like it was complete it's now blackscreened for quite a while, we'll see if it gets there but I think it may have tried a feature update to 24H2....

Just got the slide, picked it up for 180 boxed with all accessories. Anything you guys think I should do first? Have updated to the latest drivers and setup on my monitor with the dock. How good is it for gaming and is it best using steam? Thanks for any help.
