Antec is back at OcUK!

I only recently retired a very old P180 that had been through many builds over ~15 years varying from gaming to server to mini mining rig, some of which were water cooled. Absolute tank of a case and I hope the newer ones are equally well built, they sure look pretty.

Are the fans in the CX cases Molex? I'm sure I read that somewhere, seems a bit of a backwards step. I've not plugged in a Molex for many years. Rubbish connectors. I thought they were obsolete.

"2 x 120mm fixed mode RGB reverse fans on right side + 1 x 120mm fixed mode RGB fan in rear"

Anyone know, @Ace Modder if the C8 will be getting a mesh front panel option in the future?
No plans for that, we have the FLUX and FLUX Pro options for mesh front cases. The FLUX PRO was reviewed by Gamers Nexus about 6 weeks ago and the title of his video review was "best case of 2024 so far..... Antec FLUX PRO".... so some food for thought on that. Overclockers do have stock on both flux and flux pro on way to them right now, they need to put the products live and take the pre-orders haha :)

We have had unbelieveable demand for these from our first stock batch and it far exceeded our sales expectation so now we (Antec) are in a position where each reseller is only received small qtys this coming week across Europe, as we shared the demand out - and our next inbound stock is due to land in our Holland hub December.

Cheers! I'll probably be going for the non pro flux in that case, when it arrives.

These cases look really nice, and I'm tempted to get one for my imminent build.
With a glass front and side, are they harder to get decent airflow than the conventional box?
I always imagine they would but would be interested to know. But you'd need someone with fairly recent/decent examples of both for a good comparison.
I guess some review sites might have compared different styles.

I'm running with a BEQuiet 500DX at the moment, and think the main difference would be the fans in the base rather than front. I can't decide if I think this is better for air flow or worse.
The upside is that the filter mesh may be easier to remove and clean with the Antec.

Do you do any cases that are basically the same layout and functionality as the FLUX PRO but with a more simple look (e.g. no wood, simpler mesh front) and without the digital display?

Also, am I the only person that hates the look of reverse fans? They just look weird to me. What the advantage over a normal fan blowing in the same direction?

The flux and flux pro are new unique case designs from us - nothing else has the same internal case layout/design.

The purpose of a reverse blade fan is so that when you have them installed either on the bottom of the bottom or on the PSU shroud and also in side intakes of fish tank cases is so that you do not have the mount the fan backwards and have the wrong side of the fan on display. The reverse blade pulls air in, instead of pushes it. You canot really see any difference, but they pull air in, instead of push it in.

I don't really understand not liking the look of reverse blade fans, they are reverse blade so they look like normal fans installed not backwards. Unless I'm missing something?

I dunno how to explain it, they just look off to me, at least when stopped, maybe you wouldn't notice it while it's running. I've never disliked seeing the fan mount, they usually have a sticker on the central part (like the centre of a fan), so it's just the spokes, which I just think of like a fan guard/grill.

I'm assuming no answer means there isn't a "simplified" version of the Flux PRO?

Well the flux is a smaller mid tower version that doesn't have the temp displays and doesn't have the special PSU turned mount with pass through cable etc. but does have the same front design with the wood.

I confirmed no other cases we have currently use the same internal design.

Ah sorry, I missed that. I see you edited the post, did you add that bit in? It was obviously there when I replied but maybe it wasn't when I read it.

I did look at the Flux but I think I like the slightly bigger case aspect of the PRO. I don't hate the digital display it's just that I'd never use it (I couldn't see it from where I'm sat and I'm not installing the software required to use it).
Even the front panel isn't the end of the world really, I just wondered if there were other options.
I do like that it comes with 6 fans (not sure if they're any good, not looked into them), so annoying when similar cases come with 3 fans.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, especially given the time of day you did it.

Happy to reply anytime :) I was a member of these forums, long before I worked at OCUK and then Antec :)

As for the fans, they are good, considering the gamers nexus review shows they give the best cooling performance of any case on the market currently. This is a great testament to the performance of both the fans and the case design for cooling.

I have a Phanteks NV5 at moment and been fancing a change, my first ever PC build was in an Antec 902 back in day and it was a mental case haha, I like look of the C5 but just not sure if I wanna go fishtank again but unsure on some of the cases since I kinda prefer smaller form factor cases and some of these look pretty big

I found a deal on a Antec C8 ARGB and am considering it. In the GN review a reduction of CPU temperatures by 5c was achieved by using side intake fans. Are there any plans to release the reverse blade Tranquil fans as a 3 pack, so aesthetics can be matched? I'll be using a Noctua NH-U12S and a 7900X3D.
