Any bad drivers here?

I'm always 5mph over the limit unless it's a dual carriageway/motorway where i'd be 10/20mph over the limit. It's just motorways where I can be a ****. I'll be up peoples arses to get them to move out of the way etc.

In 30/40 zones i'm a fairly considerate driver.

I knocked a French customs officer over.
At the Belgium/France border, he stepped out of his hut, went and stood in the middle of the road and held his hand up for me to stop. I leaned over to get my passport off the passenger seat while still moving and was, unfortunately, still moving when I reached the customs officer. He got up, dusted himself down, then called 3 colleagues over and they asked me soooooooo many questions about where I'd been, what I was carrying etc. etc. :(

I think im an ok wee driver :)

Im very aware of other road users, constantly check over my left and right shoulder when moving (i dont know whay actually, some reason im over cautious), id tend to go 'round again' instead of cutting someone up!

Ill admit that i do speed slightly, and im quite quick up to the limit!

Im by no means a 'good driver' like someone that can push cars to their limit and know what to do in out of control and dangerous situations... as i have never experienced something like that!

I've always said the most dangerous drivers out there are the ones that think they're perfect.

Everyone has flaws, nobody's perfect - if you're aware of your flaws and limitations you'll be safe. Unless you're completely useless and intentionally dangerous...

I'm hypocritical in the sense that I have a massive go at people if they don't signal on a roundabout making me wait, and then I go and do the same thing!

I'm going to court because some drunk idiot opened his mate's passenger door on me as I was driving past. Not my fault but they want take it to the next level. For me, a court experience and no risk whatsoever of losing anything as I've already taken out insurance on my next car with the accident stated and for some reason on Bell it reduced the premium.

Oh they never manage to pressure me to going faster. Sometimes I get some impatient goon tailgating me, but it just makes me slow down. If I have to stop suddenly, I want to minimise the damage of him going into the back of me.

Had that yesterday comming back home along the M5 was doing 70ish (prolly closer to 75 though) some idiot in an Audi comes up behind me in the middle lane and starts flashing his lights at me to move over (the left hand lane is full of slow lorries and cars going <65) he does this for about 2-3 mins, getting closer and closer to me.

I just stab my brakes to flash red at him, he then just over takes me. No idea why he didnt in the first place as the inside lane was clear pretty much the whole time.

I very rearely look in my nearside mirror.
My gear changes cold also be a bit smoother.
Since having my mondeo I have lost my parallel parking skills :(

No self respecting bloke will admit they can't parallel park. Leave it to the girls to **** up. I quite often park my gf's car for her from the passenger seat :D

I can reverse parallel park absolutely fine, but when it comes to pulling in forwards, I always have to correct it a bit as I'm paranoid about kerbing the wheels so end up about 10" out :p

About 4 months after passing my test I drove my Dad's Ford Escort in to the front bumper of a Porsche Boxter.

That was a good day, they took the weewee too and tried to hit us for a whole new bumper and a courtesy car for the 2 weeks it was in the shop. Which given it was barely damaged, was just a tiny dent on the bumper behind the numberplate where it had scythed through the Escort's bodywork and hit the corner of the wheel, was a bit much. Had no choice but to get the insurance people in.

Lost Dad his no claims. His insurance on all 3 cars double. He was annoyed :(.

I got a nasty scrape on my bumper yesterday. Was picking up my lady friend from her house, but she has a ridiculously steep driveway. I had to reverse up it. After much cussin', I got the the top and heard the grinding noise of my front left corner scraping against the wall (spent too long looking backwards, didn't notice what my front was doing). I was just glad it was only a scuff on the bumper and nothing worse.

I don't think my lady friend was impressed. :(

i clipped somebodys wing mirror once in traffic.

They were oriental and didnt speak hardly any english. I was trying to explain to them the process, but they just didnt understand. I gave them my name and mobile phone number and asked them to ring me.

Dont think they understood at all what i was saying to them as i never heard anything from in it.

I'm pretty awful but generally drive slowly and I'm pretty lucky - the rest of the time I rely on the alertness of others :)

I like the description of Jimmy Carr on top gear - the worst driver he's ever seen and the luckiest man alive :)

I drive way too fast on roads i dont know, i get annoyed be people doing 55 in 60s and HAVE to overtake them, even when it isnt particularly safe to do so... Ive only been driving 16months and have a too powered car, im going to end up banned or dead, i just hope i dont take anyone else with me when i does happen. Also i cannot park, i always have 2 attempts, no matter what kind of bay/street im parking on, first time attempt is always either a foot out or alloy crunchingly close.

On the positive side, i havent and never will drink drive and i never speed in built up areas.

My car does tend to allow me to drive hard at all times, in fact it seems to encourage it... The brake and geo work ive had done has saved my life a few times, im sure of it.

Heh, must be the EP3 drivers way then :D;)

I'm pretty hopeless, well I think I'm hopeless untill I get in a car with either of my parents.

Main problem I have is a pathalogical inability to parrelel park (I can't evehn spell it) and I've never quite got the hang of where the back of my car is, so I tend to drive as if it's several feet longer then it really is (I don't touch park because it's got a tow bar).

My bad driving “goofs” were thankfully all taken care of on my previous cars. I could literally go emo for weeks if I did something big to the body of my current one, it’s in too good a condition to even scratch lightly :D

Let’s see, the Civic I once reversed into a brick wall lifting the bumper off its hinge, it’s a Honda though so I snapped it back into place nicely.

I once pulled out and a car going past scraped my bumper. It’s a Honda though so I was able to get a new bumper online for £45 and fit it myself without any hassle.

The same Civic had a skating moment when I misjudged the slippery surface ahead while taking a bend and continued forwards into a wire fence. A guy in an estate stopped to tow me out and went on his merry way. The damage was a busted bonnet release latch which I never fixed, got fed up and just part ex’d the car for the 318 saloon later.

As for that, I didn’t RTFM and thought the ASC light meant it was ON, not so! I skidded into a field while turning into work! – I learnt that Dunlop tyres are not that amazing in the wet that day!

Lessons learnt I suppose!
