Hi. I'm being signed up on the deal mentioned around here. Does it come with a wireless router? If it does, is it any better than the Sagem one provided by Sky that i already have or should i stick with that one?

Yup it comes with one. It seems ok, but the user interface is rubbish. I'm using my DG834G v4 instead.:)

Hi zombie, I joined o2 about two weeks ago but never knew you where hooking people up with this deal. Is their any way I can make use it of it now even though im signed up??

And for anyone whos looking to join o2 its really good. At the other house down the road they have BE 24meg set up and receive 1.5meg down paying 18 squid. I pay 10 and receive 1.25meg :P. Tbh its the cheapest and most reliable internet out their.

Better than the Sagem but the sky-branded Netgear DG834GTs from an auction site for only £15 are even better still.

Thanks. Will keep that in mind.
One other question, how long are people waiting for the service to activate? They generally say 2 weeks but think it came faster that that when i signed up with Sky

Got my phone all sorted and ready to order bband next tuesday, is anyone still able to get this awesome deal? if not will just go with them anyway as they are cheap as it is.

I ordered my broadband with o2 first thing on monday morning. (had my line activated on the friday)

After numerous texts and stuff, I received a confirmation text yesterday saying my line will be activated on the 15th (friday).

Just for the hell of it, I connected my router to it last night (36 hours from placing the order) and it worked :) 14 megs of goodness 3 days before activation date!

Just had a look at the o2 box looks alright. Should be fine if u dont want to do anything too advanced.

The main thing to be aware of is it has issues with a couple of games - TF2 and a few others spring to mind. You can get around it but if you have problems with those, the o2box/bebox should be the first port of call :)

A quick google and/or a look at the beuser forums should sort you out :)

I'd personally just upgrade to a DG834GT sky-branded from 'an auction' site and flash it with the DGTeam firmware. It'll eliminate all such problems and many have found it to be more stable + better speeds than the o2/bebox

Which is the current latest gen linksys modem that allows custom firmware and would support O2 broadband?

Would this not defeat the point of having an inbuilt adsl modem, having to do port forwarding twice?

Running the AM200 as a modem doesn't involve any port fowarding - the connection is bridged to the WRT54GL (which is an ethernet router).

You get the best of both worlds - a modem that is as good as it gets for ADSL2+ on the Be/o2 DSLAMs and a very flexible and reliable router with lots of advanced features.

How do you get to the noise infos on the o2 router?

just got our connection activated today, sadly only one of our house members is present at the address and he doesnt know how to get to the con info.

i manged to get him to do the speed test which came out to be 9080kbits per second which im not too pleased with.. but oh well.
