Any opinions on o2 broadband?

Mikex, are you on ipstream or LLU? if it's ipstream then you're out of luck because they will refuse to do it. I've just left them because of this.

yeah mate I am on ipstream, damn that's really unfortunate as they seem like a great ISP it's just the latency thing is ridiculous for gaming.

Guys I think there are a few other members on here who will sign you up if you ask nice, Wicksta springs to mind.

I can't keep up with the mails I'm getting from people to add them so I've had to knock it on the head for a bit.

Anyone in the same position as z0mbi3 that can sort out sign up's could they e mail me in my trust?

I have been thinking of moving to O2 however, as my exchange isn't unbundled im stuck with regular O2 Home Broadband Access, but it looks to be better than what I use just now.

So anyone use it for gaming? Whats the latency like?

And it states there are no download limits, how true is this? Usually there is some kind of upper limit, but I couldn't see anything on their site.

Ok so i got activated today! Really brilliant so far. Syncing at "Bandwidth (Up/Down) 784 / 5,533" which is amazing speed for where I am (3.14km from the exchange). Hopefully it will stay at this speed because im downloading at around 570Kbps compared to around 200Kbps with ADSL24. Really pleased!

Nice one, I've got to wait til monday for my activation. I'm about 1.32 km from my exchange so hopefully should be good. Knowing my luck the line quality is probably pap though ;]

Although not activated yet, I can't fault 02. Great customer service. Txt message every step of the way saying when it will go live, router had been despatched etc. Got my router within 48 hours of order

Please, please, please, O2-ers, come forward! We need your help. Thanks a lot in advance!

Zombie, I've tried emailing Wicksta, but did not get any response unfortunately...

Which email address did you use, the one in my trust? Someone (with a first name beginning with 'M' and a yahoo mail account) did and I replied. That's the only one I've seen so far.

Been on adsl24 for a year, no complaints but BT removed their activation date for ADSL2+ for my exchange and I can't be bothered waiting any longer. I'm a slave to speed.
I'm also a slave to speed and I migrated to O2 for exactly the same reason i.e. I have no WBC enablement date at my exchange now and it was due to be upgraded in May 2009.
I was with Zen.

Speaking of which, my line is 2.6km as the crow flies, attenuation of 56 dB. I can push my connection to 3mb. Think I'll see much difference? (I was only able to select up to 8mb when I signed up.)
You are only able to select up to 8 Mb because that's all your line can handle and it was the same for me :(

My attenuation before I went on to ADSL2+ used to be 55 dB and this has now risen to 57.5 dB but I have gained around 1 Mb in downstream speed and my upstream speed has more than doubled

When I first migrated to O2, I was on a 4676 sync but this may have been too high and my connection must have dropped and so O2 have increased my SNR margin to 9 dB and it's stable now.

Hi Wicksta! Thanks a lot for responding. Yes, I emailed to the address in your trust. My address is @sonnenkinder.org, email sent 03/09/2008 13:10. Maybe it got trapped in a spam folder? I've now updated my profile with an email address.

It's not the best for gaming, if your line gets interleaving turned on they won't switch it off. I tried numerous times in vain before having to use the 50 day money back guarantee, I would recommend one of the enta resellers if you're into gaming tbh.

I wouldn't worry about that number because it's cumulative. (it doesn't reset to zero when you restart your modem.)

Look at mine and my line is absolutely solid.

I can beat that:

Perfectly stable connection (unlike the BeBox).

After reading this thread I've cancelled both the KeConnect line at my house and my parents Nildram line, and migrated to O2's LLU service (for both)

Hopefully the transition should be fairly smooth!

Hi,

Definitely haven't got a mail from that address, my mail address forwards to my work and gmail accounts and I've searched on that day in both the inbox and spam folders and also for any mails from sonnenkinder.org and nothing comes back.

Hi Wicksta,

I've tried to sent an email to your hotmail account 3 times, from 2 different emails (the other one is @ukfsn.org). And I did not receive the emails back as undelivered - so they were most probably caught by spam filters.

I'll give it another try now, from the 3rd email address...

At work, you may well have spam filters. As I dont have broadband at the moment, and using free SMTP servers to send mail - it's not surprising that those stringent filters are viewing my email as spam.

If you don't receive any of those emails I sent from different emails, please, could you drop me an alternative email of yours (the one without spam filters) to [email protected]

Many thanks, and sorry for all the trouble (and thanks for all the fish) :-)

so I'm getting activated tomorrow.

Is there anyway to get them to turn interleaving off on an llu line? I have it off atm, packetloss is pretty rough and now and then I have to resync, but 34ping is nice :p
