Any one still waiting on contact back? I finally got a reply from staff accounts and they're asking me who's still waiting.

Hi Zombie, are you still offereing discounts on O2 Broadband? Interested in Ultimate with a static IP. (I'm also an o2 customer if that makes any difference?)

Thanks

Jon

Yep, provided you don't already have O2 broadband. Drop a mail to the address in my trust info and we'll get you sorted.

Oh brilliant. I'll get that mail fired away at some point today.

On a seperate note, my parents are both have O2 contracts and are currently with Sky BB. It's a bit pap. Is it possible to move from SkyBB to O2? What would they need to do for that to happen?

Thanks again,

JonB

A MAC code - easily got from Sky if they ask.

However, sometimes LLU > LLU migrations can be a bit funny. Might be worth asking someone at o2 (via email if possible - not a sales operative).

Epic phail.

Really happy with Be/02

Was on Eclipse before I moved (what a mistake that was)

02 last time I checked I had around 16mb but it would be good to get that little aplet people are using (available from speedtest.net?, I guess it can only record the line its used on?)

Service is also very good although when Ive got some money I might replace my BeBox with another kind of router

They'd need to get their mac code from SkyBB then you'd give me their details.

In the way of details I need full name, address, bt land line number, mobile number and e-mail address.

Are the o2/be boxes not very good then?

Generally speaking they're fine, it's just that people tend to find the wireless range a bit short in comparison to other routers as well as O2 disabling a few of the advanced options on the router. From a support point of view your better off with the O2 box and if you want to get your hands dirty with the config then there's nothing stopping you having a play with the command line. That said there's nothing stopping you picking up another router, just don't chuck the old one away.

People have been getting good results with the Netgear's handed out by Sky Broadband. I think it's this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-017-NG&groupid=46&catid=1012&subcat=&name=Netgear%20DG834G%2054Mbps%20Wireless%20ADSL2+%20Modem/Router.

Bung UberGT firmware on there and people have been seeing 0.5mbps increase over the BeBox.

My only complaint with the bebox was that it overheated regularly and there was no VPN support. I now run it in "modem" mode (Multi IP 4 data ports template) and have it plugged into the WAN port on my Draytek 2900VG which handles my VPN connections; hasn't overheated since (and gets around the stupidly small routing table that the Speedtouches are afflicted with).

Even better is the DGTeam firmware. Though the differences are only minor.

I have a Netgear DG834G v2. which is not quite the same as the dg834gt that sky give out. Will that firmware still work on mine? and where can i get it? cheers

also the netgear 834GV2 does not sync higher than 8mb so if your on *** lower package upto 8mb then its ok but anything higher seek out a 2nd user 834gt. The o2 router isnt that bad but his gets hot & overheats, mind the the 834gt gets hot also but with less issues.
