Personally I have a preference for the nexus one, due to the definite upgrades from google) but am waiting on the official UK release (with vodafone) so I can see how much it will sell for, if it's the same as it is now I'll just buy the desire as it's cheaper and turn off sense (hate sense on android see no point in it) and flash the firmware myself when neededThats not strictly the case about the price. I just ordered a Desire for £370. The Nexus one is currently the same price with shipping , then add 17% vat and possible import duty your going to be paying over £400.
The only reason to not to get the Desire in my mind is if you work in noisy conditions and need noise cancelling that the Nexus one has.
I prefer to have real buttons , fm radio so waiting for the desire.
Without question this is the best of the next gen bunch.. With every other phone coming out over the next month or so, there is a feature or two missing. Whether that be not running android 2.1, no multitouch, no snapdragon. etc.. the HTC Desire has everything!!
The only alternative that competes is the Nexus One, but the HTC Desire has a better external design (IMO) than the Nexus. The buttons and optical mouse pad are more desirable than the Nexus!!
whats missing from the x10 ? it has everything aswell as the 8mp camera which SE usually do well and HTC usually fail at
I guess you have yet to read about the HTC Incredible then http://androidforums.com/htc-incredible/53623-htc-incredible-specs-evergreen.html
The Incredible that's also rumoured to be the Supersonic, neither of which comes in a GSM flavour of yet? So you can't make voice, 2G or 3G connections with them in the UK, but that's ok, because it has 4G.... Oh wait, the UK doesn't have a 4G network, just a couple of trial areas....
It may be 4G, but its way ahead of us here, to the point where its unusable, making the X10/Nexus/Desire the best "next-gen" handsets about
Those are the 3 phones to choose between until July-August when the new iPhone is released and WM7S starts shipping
And the fact that it's limited to 16GB SD cards!!
I'm due an upgrade with voda, can i phone now and pre order it?
Any other questions anyone want me to ask when i phone up?
Will be phoning them tomorrow.
After abit of diging around I believe there is neither SW nor HW limits for 16 GB. As history has shown, these limits only specifies what SE has been able to test with at the time of publication, not what the device is actually capable of (sometimes bigger cards have not been available to test with).
It also doesn't have an AMOLED screen.
Anyone had any confirmation on when O2 will be getting this in?
