Anyone got the Antec 900 yet ?

Not got one at hand surprisingly!

Just put tight between the grill and the fan, you would be surprised by how much better than stock filters they are.

You can use other fabrics aswell, all much better than off the shelf solutions I find.

(I have used some 'felt' stuff from a craft kit in my S80b)

After Yewen first suggested this (quite some time ago) I did some testing and 15 denier is best in my opinion. It has the best combination of transparency and filtration ie. you almost can't see them but they do a good job as filters without actually restricting airflow too much.

As for a fitting guide - stretch the offending garment over the fan, install the fan then trim off the excess nylon with a craft knife or scissors.

Just fit tights to the computer, much better than any fan filter I have ever purchased or has come as stock.
lol, that made me laugh. im not concerned bout dust atm but if i ever am i know what to use ;)

yer looks very nice, anything will be a large improvement over my current one, seriously looking to get one.

looks good, silent (one of the things im looking for most), good cooling and not a massive price tag.

Got one today to replace my Thermaltake Armor, as that was too big.

Will fit it later today :D

Ya thats another issue, I don't want a case to big as it has to fit under my desk.

My current case is nice, but its to small, things are so cramped I have to leave the side of the case off. It's running fine yeah, but at the end of the day its not efficient.

Antec 900, nice size, cooled. Unique design. Stylish.

I like it. Only issue im wondering is the dust issue. Even though Yewens idea of fitting tights over it is a good idea.

You know the front two fans on the front of the case? do they blow inwards or outwards, im guessing they suck air in to cool the hd and floppy yeah?

Do all the fans suck air in?

What is the size of the case both width and height?

Can dust slip through the grill easy at the front?

How is the space inside the case?

Cheers.

the 2 at the front are intakes, 1 at the back and 1 on top are both exhaust.

and yes i would expect the front grill to be a very easy entry for dust, but could always line that with low density foam, should allow for air to still travel in and out but would trap a lot of the dust.

i installed another 120mm akaska fan in the fan shuttle on the back of the bay. I didnt bother with the side mounted fan. What I did was to buy the Tuniq Tower 120, and directed it towards the exhausting 120mm fan. So i have the two 120mm drawing air in through the one bay, the Tuniq then draws that air into the Cpu cooler and fires it at the exhausting 120mm fan. Works very well, the 200mm fan is just ticking over keeping my sys temp around 34oC, chips at 30oC on idle. Great considering i used to be about 44oC chip temp, 39oC sys temp. All fans on low speed. Looks tasty, it is abit flimsy tbh, bit slap happy with the spray gun aswell, but still im happy. Cable tiding is none existant, there is no where to put the cables, my AMGViewplus 1000 antec had loads of places to hide cables, this doesnt. But has far superior air flow, at lower noise! Overall well happy. Oh BTW there isnt no FLASHY LED FANS they are just solid leds, looks nice imo. The rear exhaust fan will need some mounting rubbers as mine does vibrate abit. Im gonna replace my 120mm fans with ultra silent ones, see how that sounds. Its very quite in comparision to my x2 120mm and x4 80mm fans!

im not sure if it would fit but it probably will, they wouldnt have made it without thinking of the lenghs the cables will have to reach. though, i shall find out at xmas just how tight the cabling is ;)

ive just got this case and might i say it looks brill just waiting on other parts for it but i am wondering if psu connectors are going to reach on my asrock dual sata2 motherboard or am i best of getting another mobo while i can been googling for hours for answers :(

Anyone care to comment on the pros and cons of the Antec 900 and the Akasa Eclipse?

Eclipse

Pro's

Proven excellent cooling with 2 or 3 quiet fans
Big - everything fits
Comes apart completely so it's really easy to build in
Mainly aluminium construction
Mirror finish motherboard tray against black interior looks very good under lights with a window
Front mounted PCI slot
Castors supplied
Forum Kudos at owning a 'great' case

Cons

More expensive (especially once fans and optional side panels have been added)
Looks are subject to taste
Plastic front
May be bigger than you want

Antec 900

Pro's

Cheaper
Comes with a window
Has 4 fans as standard including a 200mm top fan
Comes with 3-speed fan controllers
Claimed excellent cooling
Claimed quiet
iPod tray

Cons

Looks are subject to taste
Painted steel construction
Needs 4 fans to be cool apparently
Not that quiet in reality (you can hear it)
Antec build quality has been less than fabulous of late
Quite small inside
Bottom placed PSU needs very long cables
Difficult to get a tidy build due to window position

^ Need long cables?

Does that mean Modular cables will not stretch?

just means the cables supplied with the PSU need to be long enough...I have a Thermaltake Toughpower 750w and the cables are long enough and then some.
