Anyone just given up on looking for a new GPU?

Forget mining, gamers will be scalped if stock is low :(

There isn't an unending demand from gamers though.

When a product is a literal money printer and becomes free after mining on it for a few months, the demand is endless.

When it just for playing games, the demand is not endless and will become saturated.

This is the issue, at MSRP the scalpers BOT's will attempt to hoover up all the stock to then re-list on ebay and other places to try and make a profit. Mining is only part of the problem, scalpers, genuine demand, corporates it all adds up, everybody wants something with only a limited pool of stock.

If miners and scalpers ceased to exist then things would be better off but since Covid came around the whole scalping thing happens in all sectors now nearly, due to the shortages the pandemic caused.

If people weren't too stupid to buy off a scalper then scalpers wouldn't be a problem

Painful but true. If every ebay listing of a brand new card at £200 above store prices was there for 6 months, unsold... it'd just end.

That said, is it my imagination, or are prices improving? Maybe the miners are deciding there's no point in expanding/upgrading their farms with just 6 months left on the clock until the Ethereum algorithm change?

Too much cash to be made for them to make an effort to solve the supply issues

pray tell how would they solve it ? tsmc and intel are dropping BILLIONS on new fabs, and it takes a good couple of years to construct and fit them out let alone companies who make the tooling have to expand as well. its not as easy as just shouting "make more"

Stop selling hundreds of cards to miners, in bulk, for a start.....prayed...and told :p

lol The 'Radeon RX 6500 XT' just shows how terribly greedy AMD has become recently. Too much self pride is never good for anyone.

It should have been called the Radeon R3 6050 LE instead and priced accordingly below the $100 mark..
