Then you have reading comprehension issues because I did not write that at all. In the context of the amount of money some scalpers have been making with bots, I was saying 10k GBP in 5 months is not a lot of money and is not objectively speaking a lot of money in real terms. I do however obviously understand it's a lot of money to people on the poverty line.

2k a month is objectively not "a lot", it's a below average salary at 24k before tax. The average annual salary in the UK is 29k so anyone who earns "way" less than that is clearly not earning a lot of money... certainly not enough to "give up working" your regular job unless your living costs are negligible.

That to me reads as, "majority earn average wage of 29k so 2k a month is not a lot to many people"

I'm only saying that in absolute terms there are millions in the UK who are earning less than 24k, let alone 29k, so 2k a month pick is a lot of money for the majority of the UK.

Prices seem to be coming down a little of late. I could be wrong about that, I don't pay too much attention lately. But some alerts from various places seem to show a slight downward trend. 3060s for <£400 and 3070s for <£600.

Still too rich for me but a little cheaper than before? Or maybe that's just misplaced optimism

I think this forum user ratio is skewed in favour of higher earners, which is why £2k a month doesn't seem that much, but back in the real world that's a small fortune to be earning a month for the vast majority.

Funny how or I've not seen anyone mention that we're entering Quadro prices here for gaming cards. £2k - £6k is usually the going prices of Quadro.

I'd love to know where it ends though, if in another two years it ends up £3k - £4k for todays graphics cards. It wasn't that long ago £1k became the norm. Heck, I even remember the vast majority here balking at £800 - £900 for a 1080Ti back in 2017.

I have a 5700XT at the moment so no real need to upgrade. What surprises me more though is that I have a second PC Ryzen 3600 and a Geforce 1050 that I use for streaming games to my big TV through the Samsung TV steam app.

Every game I play on it has played great, I may not play the very latest games on it but for the games I actually play it is perfect. I imagine the same is true for a lot of people here. It made me think that next time I probably won't get the top of the line at the time of release again, more expense and more heat that I just don't need.
It's nice to have the latest and greatest but we don't always make use of it.

I am interested in intel too. I am a long term NVIDIA fan, but it's about time they got a kicking. They have just become arrogant and detached, which is always a bad thing. I am not sure intel are a threat just yet, but it will be very interesting to watch what happens over the next few years. My next card will probably be an NVIDIA but I am hoping that the one after that, who knows, maybe an intel!!

I'm not sure if they'll have anything top tier to compete with 3090's or 6900's but whatever they introduce will start some much needed competition at that level and down providing they can produce them in enough volume and don't get snapped up by miners.

10k in 5 months doesn't really seem like a lot, more like "casual scalper" status. However, you have to be an idiot to go public with this stuff... if you're going to do it then ffs keep it as quiet as possible.

Well he's obviously not breaking any laws, he's not dumb enough to be a miner, and the idiot is annonymous....win, win. Don't have a problem with (e*ay)scalpers, retailers are doing the exact same. Wouldn't buy from one though, that's why i dont have a PS5, but there's no games anyway. Its not important an issue, its only gaming components and consoles after all.
