Ah loved Barrysworld, agree with many as the best era for gaming. Loved playing Q2 CTF as [NME]Obsidian, I was also in a CS clan with Scott (SAS) from Freddyshouse, CS-B it was called, good times!:D

I remember Wireplay, Barrysworld etc. Used to connect via Cableinet dialup which was unlimited for set amount per month.

Also used to help run MPZ.

Wireplay was my introduction to online gaming. First Quakeworld, then Q2 when it came out. I spent soooo long playing Q2 on WP and Barrysworld - I even won £100 winning a Q2 2v2 with my clanmate, Mist - man, he was an unbelievable player. Good memories.

I remember my first time online Dec2001, Barrysworld FF-On RTCW server, there was about 4 Barrysworld RTCW servers..............didn't realise what FF-On meant untill i got kicked for killing my team mate too many times :(

Played a good few yers on Barryworld till it disappeared, then moved onto Jolt.

Barrysworld was my favourite place back in my prime days, used to admin the firearms servers for them, anyone remember firearms 2.5? the best. My MSN and steam account name is still @barrysworld.com back when steam only accepted email addresses as usernames.

Which clan might I ask?

Yeah WP days were the best, for me anyway. Most fun I've had MP wise, q2 'til god knows what time in the morning every night, knowing I had to be in work. happy memories! :D

I was known as [CoG]Guardian back in those days. Me, my brother and a couple of lads from the midlands formed CoG in mid-'98 but left when EQ came out. Still some of my happiest online memories - I still know a lot of lads from back then, from TKD, FRE, AL and even a HooD - some of us formed an EQ guild which still exists now :D
