Anyone using Wegovy?

Buy a bicycle and cycle. It won't be easy, you'll need to actively look for stuff to do, but think of errands and shopping if commuting isn't an option.

Thanks, I think that might be a plan. I've got a bike and did 600 miles in Summer 23 and lost a bit of weight then but I only did 200 miles last summer. I'm a bit of a fair weather biker but I'll def be out once the weather improves

The important thing is how you're going to manage your appetite rather than getting exercise in I would have thought. Increasing your exercise is also going to ramp up your appetite. So it would be worth finding how you deal with the "normal" appetite first before starting to add anything like that in.

Good points, I've found it fairly easy up to now to cut down on food and not snack whilst on the treatment but I'm a bit concerned that the hunger pangs might come back with a vengance once I stop. Maybe they wont if my stomach has shrunk.

I read that a lot of people will regain weight once they stop but I definately dont want to do that now I look and feel so much better.

My target weight was 75kg's and my current weight is 72 and my thinking is to have a 5kg buffer between 70 and 75 and adjust my diet depending on where I am within that range

Whilst winding down, get a food tracking app and get religious at using it.

It’ll get you into the pattern of having to think and consider everything you eat because it’s weighed and accounted for. Hopefully that will help build up a little bit of a mental block that comes up when you want to just snack etc.

Once off the drug, aim for fibrous food and things with a little more protein, as these should help fill you up. Vegetables will be key in helping you feel fuller too :)

Best of luck with it!

Getting started on this as finally run out of stockpile of Victoza that I have been on since release in 2010. Really not happy they have discontinued Victoza for Diabetic but still making Saxenda for weight loss. Was meant to be switching to Mounjaro but Scottish medical councils dragging its heels. Still absolutely livid at the issues I have had because of all the off label prescribing off diabetic drugs so people can lose some weight. Priorities should have bene made based on needs.

I hear you fellow diabetic brother.
Apparently we now have stocks here for diabetics.
After 12 jabs I am now eating less, I haven't had my tea yet (6pm food) and not likely to.

So true, I've been doing cycling, gym and swimming and still not losing weight. Diet is key.

I was always told that exercise was only 10% of losing weight, the other 90% was eating less food.

Pretty much, exercise is good for other health benefits but purely for weight loss it's basically all what you put in your face.

I bought a Mobvoi Walking Pad nearly a month ago and every day I'm doing 30 mins of fast walking.
It's not easy on my new knee and diabetic neuropathy in my feet but I need those other health benefits.

Only symptoms I've produced so far, is the need for a massive liquid explosion after my evening meal. I only eat once a day... feel fine though.

TMI I'm sure.

my OH found wegovy made her slightly lactose intolerant and more sensitive to fat in that regard you've mentioned so it might be worth noting what you eat prior to needing the throne in an urgent manner and cutting that back a little.
