Anything wrong with this job application?

It's an email introduction, anyone can do that in seconds. I'd send a letter if applying for a job, it's more 'personal' & shows you've at least made an effort:)

So much more than just qualifications count when it comes to being a teacher. Do you lot have any first hand experiences of bad English teachers, and what makes them bad please?

yes I do, when I was younger. He was awful and took pride in telling us he failed english alevel 4 times.

Sorry to chime in so late.

This thread is very reassuring, in quite a few ways

As its already been mentioned, if the majority of applications you get are like this, i can see why i get accepted to most interviews, i actually take time and work hard on a covering letter and any other relevant information.

Oh, and the suspend spree was fantastic, i'd hate to cross you on a bad day, Godfather - I actually enjoy the privilage of having kneecaps :D

Well thats me for now, thanks for the interesting thread, you should post in GD more often !

Oli.

p.s. did i get the job?

We have to rely on manufacturers for many product descriptions. Sometimes the translation they provide from Chinese is a little strange.

No we can change them. I'll get Gibbo to do it on Monday. He has a Masters in English.

Goodness me. The second round of applications you posted were truly shocking. I am still bemused as to how 'Zip' thought the one giant sentence application was OK?

I've read a few of the applications for 'potential' employees of my Uncles business. I cannot believe how little effort some people put in. Like a few people said above, if they have problems writing the covering letter, then get someone to read over it.

At University I have a close friend who is Greek. He sometimes struggles to get himself across in a way that would reflect well upon him. All it takes is a friend like myself or similar to skim through, spot the mistakes and highlight them.
